My dd will be 8 months on the 20th and yesterday we finally saw her first tooth bud. She slept alot yesterday. She slept until 11am in the morning, woke up, ate lunch, fell back asleep at 1230 until about 330. Woke up ate a snack and stayed awake until after supper at about 530. Then she slept until 8. Then was up from 8 to 9. Then slept until 1am. Then she was up until almost 5am!

Maybe I shouldn't of let her sleep so much during the day. But she had a fever of 102 and she wasn't really eating, all she wanted to do was sleep.

Now this morning it tooth is back under! Argh. So I know I am going to have another night of screaming for hours ahead of me.

What can I do to make this easier...on both of us! I have teething tablets that I use, and my ped told me it was okay to use motrin at nighttime because it reduces swelling. It's not her first time with motrin so I used it. I have tried teething toys, all she wants to chew on is her soother and her bottle nipple!

I take care of others kids, and at 7 in the morning, after 2 hours of sleep, my house started to fill up! So I sort of need a little more sleep, not alot, but a little!

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have also been dealing with the teething. Landin Cash is 7 1/2 months and popped 2 teeth this week,, I used teething tablets but the babies want to chew, so I bought some nice hard original beef jerky and let him chew. He likes it and it seem's hard and coarse enough to help break the skin on the gums to help those teeth come through. :) Good Luck :)

We are also breaking through our 2nd... 1st was almost 2 weeks ago... i am trying teething tablets also... tylenol seems to help some and orajel maybe...

I know a lot of people dont like to give Tylenol or Motrin but teething HURTS!!!!! Lucas has not broken any teeth yet but he has had some painful nights here and there. On those nights we have given him Tylenol and a swipe of baby orajel. They even make a slightly stronger version for night time. I ahvent used that yet but my friend did on her girls and she used it for day time and night time. I have the teething tablets too...but Im not sre how well they work when they are in such pain. I would try and stay on top of the Tylenol/Motrin. You can alternate the 2 usually. (As long as your ped said you can give both...mine hasnt given permission for motrin yet) What about sticking her soother or bottle nipple in the freezer just to get it cool but not so freezing that its too cold?? Or what about those teething nets that you can put food in like whole pieces of apple or something like that in it and she can chew away on that?? I hope you have some better nights soon!!!!

my aunt told me that she let her girls suck on a lemon and it worked for both of them, meaning it made the teeth break. i don't know it that is pure coincidence or if it works, but i may try it out. if you try it and it works, let us know.

i feel odd replying to this post but my dd is almost 3 weeks old and a couple weeks ago soon after we got home i noticed she has tooth buds too. and i also have a two year old im greatful she has been sleeping in lately.

she also started teething early. she was 3 mo old. (but was 5 weeks premature) but none cut until she was around 9 mo old. i think.

we used teething tabs for her another homeopathic and tylonol when those wernt enough.

I have a net teether, she gets mad at the cold and chews on the handle! And we bought some baby orajel today, just in case tonight gets nasty! We took her to the doc today and found out she has her fourth ear infection so that may be a big part of her cranky.

I thought you weren't allowed to give citrus this early? I could be wrong!

Thanks for all the ideas guys...anything is muchly appreciated. I'm starting to forget what sleep is!
