Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1) Support Group
Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
My pedi said as long as all is normal in the growth and what not that it was fine. I just had an active baby. He said sometimes that was just how it was. I was worried too becuase my sisters kid slept for 20 hours a day!
But not Marlow...she's 8 months old now and her naps are at the most 2 hours long usually, and sometimes there is only one nap.
Anyway...she is now 7 weeks and is too very hard to settle down for a nap.
We swaddle her as she is so active and wakes herself up with her movements, give her her pacifier and lay her in her crib, although she has to have very heavy eyes before we set her down or she will be bright as a button again, we also put classical music on for her on a low level as it seems to soothe her back to sleep without our intervention if she stirs.
I hope you find something that works...if you do, let me know! :) Good luck!
FYI- I only swaddle her legs, arms out... I think keeping her legs swaddled helps when she startles. It seems we have to catch her an hour hour and a half after being awake. She gets a little fuss noise. If we can catch that, it takes her less time to fall asleep. I am going to keep working at this.... I know that she is tired, she just fights it! Once she is in her crib and settled her "saucer" like eyes are closed and she is drowsy.... she just doesn't want to miss a beat, I guess!
