You name it, I need it!! Lol
Struggling with issues of my own has made parenting the hardest, rawest most revealing thing I've ever experienced in my life! Never have I felt like such a failure...and I've felt that often.
I'm sounding ways too negative, apologies, I really really really want to try harder but I feel like there's so much to work on that I'm feeling overwhelmed.
My oldest will be 6 soon and he has exhibited behavioral problems since a little guy. Lately, however, things have gotten more difficult. He has been extremely whiny and unresponsive to anything I say. I Ty very hard to just talk to him, no yelling, but often get to the point of blowing up because his behavior is so frustrating. Then starts the cycle of guilt etc.
How can I break the cycle?? I don't know where to start!! I know I should start with myself and my own issues, but what do I do about him in the meantime?? I feel like I can't win, can't surface above it. I feel weak.

What kind of behavioral problems is he exhibiting? This is the age where they are starting to want more independence and they really start challenging what we say.
Hang in there.
And finally your comment "Then starts the cycle of guilt etc." There is nothing to feel guilty about. You are trying to make him a better child. Don't let any of this make you feel guilty.
