She's playing soccer right now and has kicked the ball around since before she was two.

She's become a lot more outgoing since playing on teams & it has increased her self confidence quite a bit too.

I could brag about her all day long, so don't get me started! lol

My girls are 9 and 6, during the summer they played softball. We have been in our town a little over a year so it gave them a chance to get to know more kids outside of school and also myself with other parents. They were both so cute in their uniforms and batting helmets. It was very cool to watch them hit the ball since this was a coach pitch league and not just t-ball, helped with hand eye coordination also.

MY SON JUST STARTED PLAYING SOCCER TWO MONTHS AGO, AND THEY PLAY 3 ON 3 WITH NO GOALIES, AND THEY DON'T KEEP AN OFFICIAL SCORE. IT'S AN UNDER 6 LEAGUE, AND HE'S HAVING A GREAT TIME. HE'S MORE OF A PARTICIPANT THAN A PLAYER AT THIS POINT BUT HE'S QUITE ENTERTAINING ON THE FIELD TO SAY THE LEAST.

HE'S SCORED TWO GOALS FOR HIS TEAM...AND 2 FOR THE OTHER TEAM. I GUESS HE LIKES TO KEEP IT FAIR.LOL. HE'S SUCH A GIVER.*CHUCKLES*

my girls (11 and 13) play softball and bowl on a youth league. The love it, and have made some really great friends in both events.

My son (age 6) plays t-ball. Getting ready to start him in bowling next season...he likes t-ball, but he's not a very good loser, so his temper gets the better of him when he misses the ball or something.

Much to both my chagrin and pride, my eldest has taken to gymnastics. She has only been going since September and she is already going to be on the 'pre-team'. they tell me in a few months that she will be ready to compete. The coaches told me that they have not seen in all of their years running the gym, a child that has moved up in the ranks so quickly as Jaquelin.

But I sort of knew it would happen.
Whatever is in our DNA seems to predispose us to gymnastic ability. Which is why I sort of wanted her to find a different 'passion'. I tried her in ice skating, ballet, tap, drama, pottery, art, soccer...the list goes on, but none of it seemed to hold her interest for very long at all.
My reticence about gymnastics comes from my own past with the sport. I now creak along with two screwy ankles and a knee on which I just recently had surgery.
Not all to blame on gymnastics, as I had a terrible notion of nutrition and my mom neglected to have me eating correctly. (I'd have a snack cake before a four hour gym practice and nothing else the rest of the day...not good.) I've happily instilled healthy eating habits in my daughter so as not to fall prey to the same route as I.

I am extremely proud of her accomplishments in the sport thus far and look forward to seeing her grow with her ability and talent. It's wonderful to see her so passionate about something. It's quite cool as well to see that she is good at it. And she knows it, too.
It's been quite a boost for her confidence in other things as well.

So far, the pros outweigh the cons.
We'll see what happens.

My son is into Karate (one day a week) and loves it. We never grew up playing sports really and we don't want to push the issue but he knows it's out there and he can try if he wants but he's happy with Karate. We have more quality time at home being a family and more time for focusing on school and homework.

My daughter, 7 1/2 y/o, isn't in organized sports right now. Indoor soccer begins in January...we missed basketball registration...bummer. But! She is running with me! She ran/walked a mile and a half the other night. She walked a lap, and ran 3 laps for a mile, then walked another half mile. She really enjoys it and wants to continue doing it. It's really cool, because we can do this together and I don't have to leave her in the "nursery" while I work out.

Jessica is going to start soccer this comming up summer.
