I am not single, but my husband is bed ridden and not involved in parenting or working or the household, so I do understand.
thats too funny, maybe I'll tell my kids that.
also sitting on his bed to think about his actions, with no toys or anything.
and *gasp*...everyone be prepared to tell me what a horrible mom i am....we do believe in a swat on the behind if the crime is severe enough.
I know, I'm evil and abusive, and am going to hell because I believe in a good old fashioned spanking from time to time. lol
my mom used to use a wooden spoon (the kind used for cooking) she broke many of them on my butt.
If u hit ur friend then u cant go out and play with them. If u refuse to do a chore then u must sit on ur bed until u decide to do ur chore. If u say a bad word dependin on what the word is. U might have to go to your room, or u might get hot sauce for that 1. Actin a fool in the store will get u a spankin in the bathroom. Lets c for my older daughter. Takin away the cell phone works, but what works more is grounding her from goin out with her friends.
I hope this helps. If u need more suggestions just let me know.
Bcas, believe it or not i was never spanked by my mom. That was my step dads dirty job. But i got a switchin from my granny, and my grandma she had a fanny wacker.
Also I had a very serious problem with my son ignoring me. Finally, I gave him a taste of his own medicine. He would sit there and say, "Mommy, Mommy, Mom, Mommy, E'la (that is what he calls me, my name is A'la -- like Kayla without the K, and he cant pronounce it very well lol) however he will get annoyed because I will not respond. He will even start to poke me and its hard not to loose composure. However, after he gets irrittated enough I explained to him that how he felt when I did not pay attention to him is exactly how I feel when he does that to me. Anytime he does this, I do it back. He learns rather fast that if he wants respect he has to earn it.
Also maybe just simply ask him, what is keeping you distracted in PE to where you dont want to follow directions. Maybe he is not confident about playing that particular game or doing that particular exercise. Maybe find out what it was and practice it at home to help his confidence. You could probably convince him that he is so good he could teach the other students and it will give him a push in the right direction :)
Stay strong. Motherhood/parenting is never easy.
Usually when you put the kid in your shoes it helps. At least so far it has worked with him. After its explained though and it keep happining, then no more video games.
