You said you are on a waiting list for counseling - is that through the school? If not, try the guidence counselor. If that doesn't work, see if the county you live in offers anything such as prevention services for youth.
We have started counseling for my son. My ex thinks I'm the crazy one and he has no issues w/ our son, but I just talked to his teacher yesterday and she brought up concerns to me - the same ones I have. She also said he seems sad often. Has the teacher made any recommendations to you or pointed you to any other resources?
Anyhow, I agree with what tjmv recommended as far as checking with your local town. A lot of churches do counceling on a sliding fee scale. I would also, no matter what keep reassuring him that you love him but the behavior will not be tolerated and have consquenses and stick to them. He needs to know that he's loved but also that you will stick to your guns with whatever you tell him.
Good luck and I wish you and your son the best.
