I was on fb tonight, and realized that I hadn't been on here in forever! I figured I'd have a lot of catching up to do, but it looks like we're all in the same busy boat! Prescott has definitely been keeping me occupied! He's almost 7 months old! I can't believe it! He's still measuring around the 50th percentile for height and weight, which is just perfect for me! He's sitting up like a champ, and SO CLOSE to crawling! He's cutting his first tooth as we speak, and other than being extra sleepy and a little less hungry sometimes, he seems to be doing pretty well. I recently got a starter kit of essential oils, and have been using some on his gums. I'm not sure if it's helping, but what the hell.

He's such an active little guy. He does not want to sit still! His favorite thing now is sitting on the floor playing with his toys. He can climb and roll and wiggle, and does so with abandon! lol

We started giving him some solids. So far, he's still not into swallowing much. I've been trying BLW, and giving him pieces of sweet potato, carrot, avocado, banana, and (his fave) zucchini. He loves to chew on them and swish pieces around in his mouth, but then spits them back out. I decided to try some yogurt/applesauce to see if he would swallow that, and he has started to, so at least I know he CAN swallow it. lol I guess he just needs more time to get used to the feeling of solid pieces going down. He also likes to play with the sippy cup, but hasn't quite mastered actually drinking out of it.

He's got so many sounds and syllables, I swear he's talking sometimes! The best/worst one is whenever he's being whiny, that's when he says "mama", and it's EVERY time! I love/hate it! How am I supposed to get anything done when that little voice is calling my name?!? He also says "bah bah", so we've been trying to encourage him to say it when he's hungry (bottle) and when we go bye bye.

We had another photo shoot for his 6 mo, and since it fell in the same month as my nephew's 2nd b-day, we decided to do a family shoot with all of us and my parents. It was ok, but my nephew was cray cray, and Prescott would NOT smile! The photographer assured me we still got some great shots, but she took over 500, so statistically we've gotta get at least a few! lol

DH and I have settled into parenting pretty well. I think we've got this shit on lock! lol This little guy is so much fun, and I just love being a mom. He's such a smiley, happy, playful, laid back baby. He still sleeps great (overall) and is just so stinking cute!! He has the most beautiful piercing blue eyes! Everyone comments on them when they see him. He's gonna be a lady killer for sure! I could just sit around and stare at him all day. He's amazing. :D

So I haven't been on in forever either! Something hit me tonight and made me think of the last two years and all of our journeys through loss/struggle and having these beautiful babies. I thought there would be lots on here and everywhere, but here seems like we've all gotten a little busy and hopefully are doing well.

Samuel is so big...he's been zooming around the house for about two months...much earlier then I hoped, but its awesome...although I panic when he sneaks behind our couch. Still not sleeping through the night...was thinking I would try to start working on that a bit, but it just feels faster to nurse him and put him back down even though in the long run sleeping through the night would be even better. He loves food although hates green beans...I thought I was going to see all of the contents of his belly after the fourth spoonful...I stopped giving him spoonfuls after that :) He's so fast at snatching my food and putting it straight into his mouth I gotta watch out. He is just such a chill baby all around.

Its so funny you say Prescott says mama when whining...DH and I both hear Samuel call 'mama' while he's crying...totally coincidental, but he says it and it makes me so excited for when he eventually says it for real. He also started waving and it melts my heart.

I hope that you both...and anyone who catches up again has a lovely fall with these precious babies. It is going so so fast.

I'm sad that this thread has dwindled but I see it happening with a few other chat threads I have and it's partly my fault. I am busy - not only with a VERY active baby but with life in general. Trying to get caught up with things now that my hand is kind of in working order. It's not 100% but it's very functional. And this time of year is just busy for us even if we hadn't of had Trey.

Speaking of Trey, he is a doll. Very very active. He's been since about July (his 6 month bday). He sat up unassisted on his 7 month bday and within just a week or so, started pulling himself to a standing position. I'm guessing he'll be walking by the time he's 9 months (Nov 5th). He has 6 teeth, also "says" MAMA when he cries :) and is just so smart and fun to have around.

I still nurse him but have also introduced foods with the concept of "baby led weaning", so he eats TONS of veggies, fruits and LOVES meat. He also LOVES sweet peppers - I don't know if it's cuz they are so brightly colored or he truly likes the taste, but for any of you doing the baby led weaning, you might want to get the bag of mini peppers that you can find in your grocery store (well at least they are at my grocery store), there are usually red, orange and yellow peppers. The baby just LOVES them and they are truly sweet.

Trey has made up a cute game. If he thinks that he is being ignored then he coughs. So his dad has started coughing back and they go back and forth with their "coughs" for quite a long time. It's quite funny. He did it to me when I was at the library one day, luckily they aren't a strict library and don't mind some noise.

Brenna is about to turn 10 months old on the 15th of this month- I cannot believe how fast time has flown!

We have 4 teeth now! She crawled for the first time on my birthday (October 2nd) but is still very unsure of herself so often just scoots 2-3 times and sits down. She loves rolling around to get what she wants. She also just started pulling herself up on furniture. I love watching her grow because she's always so amazed and proud at some new accomplishment. It makes me so happy!

The girl loves to eat! We went through a rough patch where she was downright refusing everything but my little piggy is back! We are down to nursing to just 4-5 times a day when I'm with her. My husband and I also have been making her baby foods so she's had a variety of different things- she loves everything but I'd say her favorites are sweet potatoes and pears.

She has also weaned herself from the bottle. She started refusing her bottles at daycare and I thought maybe it was just with the adjustment but, nope! She now drinks her breastmilk and water out of a sippy cup.

We've graduated from Gerber puffs to Cheerios and she loves feeding herself. She loves graham crackers as well. She's also picked up on clapping, waving byebye, and pointing.

Daycare is going great- I honestly think she loves going! She hasn't fussed/cried once at drop off. Even the 2 ladies she's with say it's like she's always been there in the class!

Being a mom has changed me in more ways then I thought possible. I absolutely love it! There are some days where it's really, really hard and I miss being able to lay in bed and drink coffee and just relax. But then I see my little girl look my way and smile and my heart just melts.

Still thinking of all of you! I know I don't post often anymore but I'm still reading all the updates- keep them coming!

Since the last post, Pres has started crawling like crazy, he can pull himself up already, he's got 2 teeth, and LOVES to eat!!

He's into EVERYTHING. His favorite things to play with are the house plants and the dog's water bowls (with water in them is a bonus).

We got away from the baby led weaning, because he was just choking on everything. So we switched to mushed up foods and spoon feeding, which he does great with! I give him little pieces of other foods that he can easily mash, like bread, bananas, chicken, yogurt drops, and tonight he had meatloaf! He friggin LOVED the meatloaf, btw. I have been feeding him the pieces, though, because when I give it to him to feed himself, he always just ends up sucking on his fist and dropping the food on the dogs. We'll keep trying here and there, but for now I just want to get him used to eating, so I'll mostly keep feeding him.

He hasn't added any new sounds, but now he's started shaking his head "no". It's too funny. He likes it when you shake your head back at him, and then he does it again. It's a fun game for him. Still whines ma ma and says bah bah all the time. He knows his name, and will turn and look at you when you say it. We've been working on telling him no when he's getting into something he's not supposed to. He knows we're talking to him, and he will stop what he's doing for a second, but then goes right back to it. So either he doesn't know what we're telling him, or he's already a smartass. lol

We got a sneak peek of the pics on fb, and the ones we saw are cute. We haven't gotten the rest back yet. They should be coming next week. I can't wait to see them. I'll try to post some on here when they come.

The biggest news is that I got a full time job. Kinda. I'm filling in for a guy that's out for knee surgery for the next 6-8 weeks. However, he was talking about retiring at the beginning of next year, so the general consensus is that he just won't come back, so it's possible it could be a permanent thing. I have mixed feelings about it. I like the money for sure, and especially right before Christmas. Kevin is always wanting me to work more, so this will get him off my back for now. But now I won't have any weekdays off to stay home with my baby!! That makes me so sad! All of this went down on Wednesday, so it was VERY short notice and I had to switch gears quick, and had a little crying fit when I realized that would be my last day home with him, at least for a while. It also means going to a different facility, and I really like where I am now, so that also makes me sad. It's yet another job that I'm just getting thrown into blindly, with ZERO training, and I just have to figure it out. This keeps happening to me, and I don't like it. Just once I'd really like to get a job that wasn't last minute and that allowed me to get some training from the person I'm taking over for, but that's just not how it works for me, I guess.

Anyway, that's been the last month for us. Busy busy busy! Hope y'all are doing well, and Happy Halloween!! I want to see pics of babies in costumes!!

Hey Ladies!!!! My little girl just turned 8 months! I can't believe it!! She is sitting up by herself and trying really hard to crawl...she prefers to stand at the couch tho. We did not do BLW for solids...I make all her food in my baby bullet...I have tried to give her little pieces of food and puffs and she gags soo bad and then pukes so clearly she is not ready for that...i tried using a mesh feeder but she wont even put it in her mouth and I know she knows how because i used to put boobsicles in there over the summer...my MIL has also put reg. ice cubes in there and she will suck on that but if there is food in it forget it! She is doing a photoshoot on monday...one of the local photographers was looking for a baby girl to model new prints for the cloth diaper company that is from my area and they picked Joey to model the new prints!! She is seriously SOOOO chunky...like 98th percentile lol....She has to pretty much wear stretch pants because of her leg rolls...I just put size 12 month jeans on her an they were a no go LOL...ridiculous!

Trey will be 10 months old on 12/5, so about a week from now. He's got 7 teeth, still nursing but also eats ALOT of solids. The BLW worked for us but it's funny cuz there are times when he seems to prefer us to feed him and there are some times when it's a messy food and it would be easier for us to feed him. He can use a spoon and fork if we load if for him. He's been crawling since he was 6 months old, sitting since 7 months and pulling himself up since 7.5 months. I thought he would be walking by now but he seems to be happy with the crawling.

He is such a cutie, says MAMA and is trying other sounds, but none that are words yet. Loves to play, knows his name, knows what "NO" means but ignores it when it's in relation to playing with the dog (who doesn't really like him, but will tolerate him for short periods of time). It's too bad the crabazz lives in the house cuz I know the outdoor dogs would LOVE him.

Glad to see a few more replies!! Love keeping track of everyone. Prescott is 9 mo today! God, where has this year gone??? I can't believe it's almost Christmas!

We took him to the mall to see Santa over the weekend. He did really well. He didn't cry at all, and we got a couple of really cute shots. I need to post some pics on here. I'll try to do that this week.

He's trying so hard to walk. He's actually stood without holding on for a few seconds a couple of times, but it's always short lived.

He's been eating everything!! He doesn't eat a lot of any one thing, but he's loved pretty much everything we've tried, and he's doing better with the gagging. He's picking up his cheerios and yogurt drops (and throwing them on the floor) and I still spoon feed him softer foods. We'll let him pick up pieces of chicken and whatnot, and he loves it. The only thing he hasn't liked is cottage cheese. I guess it's a texture thing, but that's really the only thing he's turned away. He loves spaghetti, and every meat he's tried. He grabs at the spoon, but then just wants to throw it, so we're still getting the hang of that whole thing.

He still says mama all the time, but he's now added dada. It's adorable. For some reason his voice is so much cuter when he says that than when he says mama. I hate it. lol He also added yaya, and will repeat that on command, but that's the only syllable he'll repeat. He's also got nana and a slow raspberry sound that's hilarious. He sounds drunk.

He's got 3 teeth and a 4th coming in now. He gets a runny nose with every tooth. I got him an amber teething necklace, but hubby keeps forgetting to put it on him in the mornings, so he hasn't really worn it much. I diffuse peppermint oil in his room at night, and that seems to help him breath better. Other than the nose, and some extra sleeping, he's pretty good with teething. I had to give him some motrin with the last tooth, but only for a couple of days.

We're going for his 9 mo check up today, so I'll find out what the little guy weighs, but he's just about out of size 2 diapers and his infant car seat (it was only rated to 22 lbs). We're getting new ones for Xmas. We're supposed to get more shots today, but I hate to do it with his nose being runny. I dunno, we'll see.

Thanksgiving was great, and Christmas is coming on fast!! I've already bought too much for him, but it's just so damn much fun to buy all these little toys! He won't be spoiled at all. ;) If I don't talk to y'all, Merry Christmas!!!

Hi All! It's been ages since I've been on here. Nia will be 9 months on Christmas day. She is standing, babbling, a lot of teething, but no teeth yet. She's about 21 pounds... in the 90th percentile for height and weight. She's not much of a napper (ugh) but she does go to sleep like clockwork every night at 8:30. Hey, any of you have good tips for napping, feeding or anything else that you've found useful?

OMG, y'all, Prescott turned 1 yesterday!!! I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! My baby is becoming a toddler, and it's making me so happy and so proud and so sad all at the same time.

He's walking now, albeit like a drunk old man, but still. Steps are being taken across the living room. :)

I'm calling his official first word "Bye". It's the first one he's used in context, and enough times for me to think that he knows what he's saying.

He's a great little eater, and pretty much eats whatever I give him. He still takes 3 bottles a day, and we're getting ready to switch those all over to milk. We're using up our last tub of formula now.

He still takes 2 naps most days, and sleeps from around 830 to around 730 every night.

He's still a little guy. We go for his checkup tomorrow, so I'll have official numbers then, but I'm guessing he's still somewhere in the area of the 30th percentile. He's still in his infant car seat, but we're going to get a new one soon. Hopefully this weekend. If he's not too big for the infant one, he will be soon.

We're going on our first family vacation in a few weeks to Myrtle Beach. I hope he's as good away from home as he is here. He's usually pretty easy going, so we should be ok. The car ride has me the most worried, but he usually loves to ride, so fingers crossed that sticks.

What an adventure this year has been. I'm looking forward to so many more firsts for him, while simultaneously mourning the passing of firsts that will never happen again. We're officially out of first holidays to celebrate.
