Yard sales are the best place to buy baby clothes!! I got 3 pairs of overalls, several pairs of pants, and a few shirts for $2 last weekend! I had to wash them twice, because they came from a smoking house, but still totally worth it! lol

I've gotten most of his clothes from either thrift stores or facebook rummage sites - VERY CHEAP, but not quite as cheap as you. I went through them today and I have MORE THAN ENOUGH to last us till 9 months. If I find some cute ones in the 12 months range I might get them, but as of now all we need are socks. I can't believer how much clothes this little boy has and how little I paid for it. But then again, this is a ranching community, so if I can find little cowboy clothes, I'm getting them - no matter what size they are.

My mom got a ton of socks on clearance at Old Navy.

This kid gets so hot, he's only wearing onesies now. We have all these cute outfits, but he burns up in them. I imagine this summer he'll be naked a lot. lol

Problem is our shopping is very limited - we are about 40 min away from a Walmart/Target and a couple thrift stores. There is a JC Penney's & Herbergers - I should check them out and see what they've got. I have gotten some REALLY good bra's for really good prices at Herbergers - maybe kids clothing will be good too.

Any really good shopping like Old Navy, TJ Maxx, kids consignment stores are all about 2+ hours away. I used to make the long trek and fit in TONS of shopping but it's just not feasible with an infant.

I got hollered at in the hospital that I wasn't bundling him up enough. I was BAKING in the room so I'd only have one blanket on him. He never felt cold, but now I worry that he's gonna get cold so I bundle him up and find that the poor guy is overheating. I'm really bad about it when we go places - he bakes in that carseat. So then I leave either his socks off or even his pants off - but always have a blanket handy if he needs it and ppl chastise me for making him cold. The kid is sweating for crying out loud - leave me alone ppl.

I've found that we have a TON of clothes that aren't gonna get used because I'm too lazy to put them on him. It's just so easy to put him in those feetie pajamas.

I don't know why people think babies are cold. They are usually hotter than us! Prescott let us know how much he hated being hot one night in the car. He started screaming like he was being murdered. Kevin rolled his window down, and he was fine. We keep our house pretty cool (I'm usually freezing), and he still gets hot. Sometimes his hands and feet get cold, so I cover him up, but then he gets mad. At night he sleep in nothing but his diaper and swaddle blanket, with the ceiling fan on, and still wakes up sweating. They told us in the hospital that he needed one more layer than we would to be warm enough. I call bullshit. He tells me he needs 2 less layers!! lol

I must admit that I'm the mom who probably bundles her baby too much. I still insist that Brenna be covered with a blanket in her carrier and it's May. I always dress her in layers too so if she gets hot, I can just strip her down. I always feel bad if her feet/hands are cold so I worry.

I'm sure all babies are different, just like adults. Some people are cold natured and others are hot. My DH is def hot blooded, and I get really hot in my sleep, so our kid is just like us.

Well the garage sales were kind of a bust - I didn't get any of the "big" items that I was looking for, like the exersaucer or jumperoo. Since it was a city wide sale - there was an actual ad that said that none of the sales would start till 8 AM but of course I didn't get out of the house till 8 so not there till 8:20 but even if I had been there by 8, I would have bill SOL cuz a friend of mine drove through town on her way somewhere else (at about 7 AM) and she said TONS of ppl were walking out of the garages with their arms FULL. So I'm sure the big/good stuff went fast. Oh well - we recently got some gift cards/checks so I'm just gonna buy him a new jumperoo. He deserves to have some new stuff too.

I did find some clothes, not that he really needs any. And I found some other crafty stuff and a new handmade photo album that I'm gonna fill with pics and give to someone as their Christmas gift. It's cool, it's doesn't have pages you flip, it is kind of a fold up/pop up book. I think I'm gonna see if I can replicate it and make more for gifts and maybe more to sell at craft shows this fall/winter.

There is another city wide rummage sale next weekend, I'll prob try to go to that too. It's just hard when you're by yourself, toting a baby around and you are having back problems. I put him in his stroller and we walked around for a while which was nice, but my back can only handle so much. And it's just to hard to take it all out of the pickup, set it up, go look at one or two houses and then load it all back up. Actually the hardest part is finding a parking spot for my ginormous truck. It's obnoxious.

Aww, boo. Sorry you didn't get any good deals. I hate early bird yard salers! There's a big indoor sale at the middle school this weekend, so I'm gonna try to go to that. It's supposed to be raining Saturday, so it will be nice to be inside.

Won't hubby go with you or watch the baby while you go? It is hard to do with the baby, even when the hubs goes too. When we went, at a few stops we left him in the car. (I know, call CPS!! lol) But if there were several together, then we put him in the stroller.

Speaking of crafty, a friend of mine posted a fb pic of her baby with a bowtie on, and when I asked her about it, she told me she made it. So I immediately googled it and found a super easy tutorial for a no sew baby bowtie! (I don't sew, but I can hot glue like a boss!) So guess who's gonna have a huge bowtie collection?? lol I'm gonna make one for him to wear on Mother's Day, and then I'll just make them from time to time after that.

we are starting to like the swing more..she never really liked it while she was awake but was good when she was sleeping but now that she is noticing things and baby talking she likes it better while awake...ours has this little bears as a mobile and she talks to the bears and tries to get them...its so cute!

Normally DH would be willing to either take Trey or go with us but he had booked some work for last Sat & this Sat before I knew about the rummage sales. He bred some cows for a neighbor guy and usually I would be there and do most of the breeding but since all the local women are going to the rummage sales, then I couldn't get a babysitter - so I got to go shopping instead. Next time I'll have to plan my shopping before he plans any work. :) I thought about seeing if I could tag along with another lady or two from town, but then I knew I'd slow them down, so I'll just go by myself. The one for this weekend is in a town that I am more familiar with so maybe I'll be able to navigate better too. We'll see. It's not like we NEED anything, I just like to shop WAY TOO MUCH!!!!!

I did find a used jumparoo on facebook. It's got the 2nd highest ratings on Walmart, so should be pretty decent. And it's about half price - so I'm happy with that.
