Trey got a floor mat/gym thing - it's got one arch that goes over him with 4 toys and a mirror on it and a little piano for him to kick. I wasn't real please when I got it cuz it had safari animals all over it and I had wanted one with farm animals. But the farm animal one doesn't have the piano and he LOVES the piano so evidently my aunt knew better than I did that this was the best toy ever. It not only keeps him entertained but I can see him learn and develop while using it. At first it was him realizing that he was the one responsible for making noises - then I noticed that he was getting more and more interactive with the toys above him and most recently I can see that he is using the mirror. I just love it and can't wait to get him an exercauser to see how much more he plays and develops with that.

We love our floor mat as well- pretty much the same idea as Poly said- Brenna loves rolling around on it and checking herself out in the mirror. We also love our pack n play as well. Mainly because it has a changing table attached so we don't have to run back and forth up the stairs to change her. I'm excited to get her an exersaucer- I think she will be ready very soon!

We got a little aquarium thing that attaches to the crib that plays ocean noises or music, lights up and has little ocean creatures that move around. We play the ocean sounds every time we put him down to sleep in his crib. He seems to like the light and the noise. He likes the music too, but it doesn't lull him to sleep like the ocean does. He's not to the point where he notices the moving characters yet.

We have a floor mat too. So far he's really only noticed the mirror, and that just happened the other day.

We've been putting little stuffed animals near his face where he can focus on them, and have been trying to get him to touch them with his hands. He still hasn't figured out his hands quite yet, though.

Honestly, the most entertained he's been is when I'm holding him and making noises with my mouth. He's enthralled when I make clicking noises, or blow raspberries. lol

We also like the changing table on our pack n play, though ours kinda leans in towards the middle of the thing, so when we're changing him, he rolls to one side. But it still works.

Other than that, the most useful items for us have been receiving blankets and one piece, zip up sleepers. That's practically all he wears! lol Oh, and I got a little bathtub with a sling in it that can be used from newborn through toddler that I love! Makes baths super easy. I would have never been one to use the kitchen sink, because ours is always full of dishes. :)

I wonder if I should get something like you have for Trey's crib - he seems to like some light when he's going to sleep and I think he likes the ocean noise that his bouncy chair makes. I just don't want to be one of those ppl that buys one of EVERYTHING. I wanted to keep things simple, but we'll see. I think there is one for sale on facebook.

I also LOVE my boppy - I don't use it as much now, but I used it a TON in the beginning. I'm starting to use it for tummy time with Trey now cuz he HATES to be on his tummy unless he's on the boppy.

We don't have a mobile in his crib, and I wasn't going to get one, but I saw the coolest one at Target the other day that matched the aquarium! lol I'm still not sure if I'll get it, because he mostly sleeps on his side, so I'm not sure he'd even look up to see the thing.

we havent done any toys yet...she has all types of chairs and such to sit in but generally is annoyed by them if she is awake lol...i go have a gym thing u lay on the ground..i should get it out and try it....maybe tomorrow lol

i do have to say that i love my frame stroller...its so much lighter and easier to use than the one that came w our travel system so i will be using that until for awhile before i am forced to lug around the big stroller!!

I love my swing/bouncer. My little one will nap in it and I can move it to different places in the house. I love the changing table that goes with her pack and play bassinet. I also love my house dress/nightgown. I live in it..wear it all day long. So comfy. I think I'm beginning to look like a frumpy house Frau. I need to get out more and get a hair cut.

I love our swing and bouncer also - so much so that I should either invest in one that you can plug in or I should take stock in energizer/Duracell.

We have a sort of rocking chair sling thing that I got from my sister that I use constantly. I wish it would rock itself, but he loves it! He is somewhat upright when he's in it, so I think he likes it better than laying down flat. I move it to whatever room I'm in at the time, so he can hang out with me when I'm doing stuff. He was in the kitchen with me tonight while I cooked dinner.

So fun! Samuel loves that little piano baby gym thing too. I think his favorite part is the little mirror...he just smiles at that little baby, it's so sweet.

Does anyone have a video monitor that they are in love with? Was going to buy one, but am overwhelmed by the reviews out there :)

I found a crib mobile at a yard sale over the weekend! So instead of $50, I only spent $10! :)

I got the babiesrus brand video monitor but i have not tried it yet since she hasnt been in her crib unless i was in the room with her putting clothes away or something..i was going to start napping her in her crib over the weekend until i went to put batteries in the monitor and realized it takes a special battery that u have to get from babiesrus...i just ordered it this morning..i played with it before while it was plugged in...seems decent ....i could put her in their to nap and just use the plug to keep monitor on but its cold and rainy now and our upstairs doesnt have heat (we use eden pures in the bedrooms but dont have one for her room) and its to chilly to put her in her room right now so maybe once it warms back up i will try a nappy in her room :)

There's a city wide rummage sale this Sat - I'm tempted to go and see what baby treasures I can find. Really hoping to find a good exersaucer and maybe a mobile/musical device for his crib. And of course any and all clothes that are cute and on the cheap.

so i just bought a bobby and like this mini boppy thing that u use for tummy time...ya she could careless lol!!!
