Ugh- I am sorry you are dealing with this. I don't have much experience. I know I was told if I started having clots larger than a golf ball, to give them a call or if I was soaking through a pad in an hour. However, I never really bled all that much. Mine was about what my regular period would be and then tapered off. I definitely stopped bleeding early- I know I wasn't bleeding at my 6 week check up but every woman is different. I'd call to see what your MD has to say.

With the C-section - I was told I'd bleed a little less, I bled for exactly 4 weeks but for the life of me I can't remember how heavy it was/when it tapered off. I do remember passing some pretty big golf ball sized clots in the hospital. I'm guessing they are gonna tell you it's normal but you should prob call anyways.

I'm sorry - but better safe than sorry. I remember calling in about my leaking incision and the doc on call said it was normal and to just put some Neosporin on it. Went AGAINST his advice and made an appt for the next day and that doc said it was a good thing I came in cuz if I had waited even another day or two, it would have been REALLY bad.

i went and she said i have zero signs of infection and will get an US on tuesday and if they cant rule out 100% that there is nothing left in the uterus then i have to have D&C but she thinks its from my one clotting disorder because the one causes heavy menstrual cycles so she is assuming it would also cause high postpartum bleeding as well so hopefully that is the case.

I'm glad you went, even though you didn't want to. I hope you don't need the D&C, but better safe than sorry.

bleeding has slowed down some and that makes me want to cancel the US for tomorrow but I still get gushes so I guess I better go!

Definitely go! I am hoping maybe you are nearing the end. I remember I had a really big gush that terrified me and then the next day, I passed a huge clot and my bleeding really slowed down after that. Rest when you can- don't overdo it!

Blah!! I am annoyed with this pump/dump situation we are in right now!! Docs said to do it for 24 hours which they said was probably a little over kill but just do it for 24 hours anyways. Ive been trying to drink extra fluids to flush my system out from the meds and I can start nursing around 3pm so I should only have to give her one more bottle. We started giving her 1oz at a time but quickly found that she prefers about 3 oz.....generally she will drink like 2-2.5 and then take a break and then finish the bottle like a half hour after that but we do a lot of burping while bottle feeding because she has to like chug the bottle even with NB nipples on it but she usually has to chug in the beginning when i nurse her because I have like forceful let down....i have been trying to pump about an ounce off before I let her nurse because I feel like she is drowning but sometimes I am not in a situation where I can pump before she nurses...

Ugh! I so feel for you....
My daughter chugs the bottles as well- even now, and she's almost 4 months. I also seemed to have a forceful let down (in the beginning). She used to choke/sputter and chug. It seems now that my milk supply has adjusted, we are doing much better. Hang in there mama- it's almost 3!!!

I am sorry you ended up with the D&C and then the pump and dump, but I'm glad you followed through with the u/s and appt and things didn't turn from bad to worse. I'm sure by now it's 3 PM where you are and life is back to normal.
