Hi I am new to this group....but I know my anxiety brings on panic attacks. I am on Klonopin. It's the things I fear that trigger me. Have you ever had therapy? Take a deep breathe and count to 10 breathing in and out slowly...try to relax and think of some that relaxes you. In your mind bring yourself to a quiet place that you enjoy~! It works for me sometimes...not always. Hugs to you...it can be overwhelming

Thank You, it helps knowing that I am not the only one out there, I am not in therapy, me and my husband just moved here 3 years ago from home (1500 miles away)and family, friends so that makes it worse, haven't seen my dad in 2 years and can't afford to go home and visit :( all I have is my husband and this web site to help me through this.

Hey your story sounds much like mine. I moved out off my comfort zone I have a new baby and new hubby and its all new and I guess scary. I started seeing a therapist and a psychiarist for the meds to help me cope now. I would really recommend seeing someone for therapy it really does help!

Hello,i have had panic attacks for a long time.I had my very first one not long after i got married,i was 18.Mine came out of the blue, for i lived not to far from my parents at the time, but i believe being married was a part of it.They were not bad at first having them ever so often, but after 10 years i had a full checkup and then i found out what they were. Please do not let this scare you,as wackymacky says,we can control them.I am in therapy for mine and have gone months without one.So there is help.Getting your mind off them, the breathing helps and keeping your mind off them.I know sometimes this is hard to do,but if i can do it you can too.I do take someting for mine and it does help.I know how hard it is at times, but you will make it.I also pray with mine, hugss to you!!

Panic vs Anxiety for me. Anxiety is nervousness, feeling unsure and feeling physically warm and clammy. Panic is not being able to think clearly, sweating, feeling shaky and dizzy accompanied by nausea and deep fears and a desire to run and hide somewhere.

I have found with me anxiety is the thoughts and feelings and the panic attack if you will, is the physical manifestation of my anxious thoughts. I hypoventilate now, which is the same thing as hyperventilation except it's quiet and no one can tell unless I tell them. It causes the same freaky tingling in the fingers etc, because both of them cause me to take in too much oxygen and not enough expelling of carbon dioxide. Alhtough I think during a panic attack I also have irational htoughts which differ from the regular worry thoughts of anxiety. It really usually the anxiety of rme thety brings on the PAD. Some people have physical reaons they have panic attacks and may not experience the anxiety and be confused as to why they are panicing. It can be caused by heart problems too or PTSD.
