some seem to enjoy their panic attacks, if you dont then simply disolve any valium type ,pill under tongue when 1 starts and breathe deep and slow. dont tense up or fight back
psychs usually arent helpful, so order a cheap self help book on recovering from panic attacks from an internet bookstore and follow its advice
I experience mini attacks myself. I can have several in a day and then none at all the next. I am trying to pay attention and record the "triggers". I generally am an excessive worrier and I can easily keep myself up worrying about door locks too.
I just wanted you to know that I can relate to how your feeling and I dont have anyone in my corner knowing what i deal with on a daily basis.
Natural disaters and thoughts of the world coming to the end is another thing I worry about too. Just remember altho we are dealing with this pain in the neck disorder, we are still normal.
Normal people have these thoughts too, just not to the extreme that we "really feel it" through panic.
Hope I helped and know i am in your corner!!
I agree with the idea of reading panic books. I've read them all and have found a lot of education in them! I have also posted a lot of other little things that have helped me over the years in a few of the previous posts tonight.
I've never dissolved anything under my tongue, nor would I, personally.
Get into a psych, which I think you are. That is going to be a huge step for you. I have found that Klonopin is the most prescribed drug for panic disorder, and I find it to be an amazing help. Though, everyone is different. Antidepressants are also often prescribed and can be beneficial, but are not fast acting.
Come here and read often. There is a lot of good advice on here, and if nothing else, it shows you that you are not alone and that your feelings are normal. I find it helpful to poke around here when I have a panic attack and it tends to calm me down.
I am also a student, and I just had finals, so I know the stresses that come along with school. Hang in there, it's winter break now. Now it's time to get yourself to feeling better before you go back for another semester!!!
Wishing you all the best, let me know if I can help in any way!
