The racing heart happens to me every so often too. Happened yesterday in fact. I'm not sure what caused it but I was able to say to myself that I was safe and that nothing was wrong with my health..... and I believed it so the anxiety went away.
Keep with the positive thinking and your anxiety book and eventually it will work to help calm you down.
