am taking metoporlol and started paxil today. I am not sure if the paxil itself or a combo of the two drugs made me feel so strangely. I felt dizzy and nauseated. Called my dr. and he said that he wants me to continue with the paxil. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

I haven't taken paxil but I did a lot of research before i started on what i'm on. Dizziness and nausea are common side effects that start in the beginning, but should go away within the first week or so. Hang in there and keep taking them, plenty of people are on them and their helping a majority of the people, if it continues past two weeks i would go back in and see your doctor, sometimes your body just doesn't react to stuff and then you just have to start all over, keep your chin up, good luck!

stay on the paxil awhile, take just before bed, if the other is a beta blocker, you may need to try others if yiou remain dizzy

Hey there. When I first started paxil, I was a queezy mess, but it subsided after a few weeks. I am also prescribed xanax, so that helped alleviate a few of the panic attacks. Hang in there, darling, but remember... the med your doc prescribed might not be for you. I had to try lexapro and zoloft before trying paxil which works for me a lot better than the other. Also, experiment and see if taking them at night would work better for you. Good luck. :)

Thank you everyone. I appreciate all of the input that I can get! I will try it at nightime. My dr. told me to take the paxil in the a.m..

I felt dizzy and weird for about a week. IT was so worth waiting for the side effects to go away. I take mine in the morning. I look forward to it more than my coffee. Or maybe it's a tie. Good luck!

I felt dizzy and nauseous the first couple of weeks and now everything is great. I get really sleepy, so I take it at night about 30 min- 1 hour prior to getting ready for bed. Hang in there! It'll get better as your body adjusts.

I took metoporlol 25mg also and it made me very dizzy as well, so my dr. suggested half and it was the same. Sometimes betablockers are not for everyone and you may have to try an alternative. I currently take xanax and my dr. added effexor yesterday. Good Luck!
