While it is possible to deal with your panic attacks by yourself using many different techniques, it is best to go to the doctor for some real medical advice. That will help the most, in the long run.
I've dealt with my panic attacks, without medication, for years but just recently went back on medication.
Some things that help are: deep breathing - take a breath in, count to 5, release, repeat; meditation; self-hypnosis videos (there are tons on YouTube for anxiety and panic); even regular exercise helps.
In the end, what works for others may or may not work for you. You have to find the right approach for yourself. Just remember, we are in control of our bodies and our minds at all times, as much as it feels like we are not during our panic attacks. Take a deep breath and tell yourself, "it's just a panic attack, and it will be over soon." Don't forget that you are still in control. You will be ok!
Just be careful not to give in to the attacks and allow them to control your life. Running from them reinforces them, because you start to train your mind that panicking gets you to go somewhere safe. Too many people have lost their jobs, their homes, spouses, friends, etc., falling into that compulsive need to escape.
