Sorry for the long email from hell.
.I have been out of work for over a year and a half I had taken time off from my old job FMLA. The FM LA ran out but my doctor wanted me to be out for another month because I was still having debilitating panic attacks due to this very stressful job. My job would not allow me to take the rest of the month and when I called in sick once they fired me
. I have been going to therapy taking medications, and for once in my life I was free from Panic Attacks for three months. In that time I got gastric sleeve surgery and lost 60 pounds. I started feeling more healthy better about myself. I had look for a job over the year. And like a miracle I went to a staffing agency and got a job with in a week at a very reputable company making decent money. I was looking so forward to this job and finally getting back on my feet because my employment had run out and my mother was supporting me so I would not lose my house
I was so glad I would finally be able to show my daughter that I could do this and get through this traumatic year. Last night the day before my job I was a little nervous but nothing I couldn't handle I thought I was ready. I got up for work and mornings in general make me very anxious and I had to get up very early. I wanted to make sure I got there on time so I got there very early but all the way up in the car I had a full-blown panic attack with dry heaves,
almost ready to pull off the road I thought for sure that I was going to get sick all over myself. I was devastated I felt like such a failure. I had gone through all this work therapy medication surgery trying to get my life right be the best mom I could be and finally show my daughter the old me the one that used to go to work every day and do the best she could ever do as opposed to when I had that horrible job and it literally made me have a nervous break down.
I never wanted her to see me like that again. This job was going to be a fresh start. But my panic disorder decided to rear its ugly head this morning. After texting a few friends and talking to someone I managed to pull myself together stop crying and bring myself in the building. I only took a half of a Xanax because I didn't want to be sleepy. The company is wonderful the people are so nice I couldn't ask for anything more but I am absolutely petrified I'm going to lose this opportunity because of these debilitating panic attacks that just won't go away. They make you just want to flee the office
. I really think I would be good at this job and this is a wonderful company I'm not afraid of new things and challenges I'm afraid of this monster of a disorder. Tomorrow will be my second day. It will be very encouraging if I don't have an attack like today. I need to get through this I need to get back to work I need to start getting up on my own 2 feet my daughter will be going to college I need to pay for that were working towards getting her car.
I am a single mother and have been her entire life and that definitely puts the pressure on being the only breadwinner in the family. But most of all I want my daughter to have a good role model and not think I am lazy or don't want to work. I haven't illness that is ruining my life.
Has this happened to anybody else? The pressure of just trying to function at work seems like it is unattainable.I am far from lazy I have worked since I was 14 years Old I have a great work ethic and have worked a few jobs at a time just to make ends meet. I finally bought a house for my daughter and I after years of trying to get my credit up and approved for a mortgage. A lot is riding on this job I don't want to lose my house and be a disappointment to my family
. Some kind suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
I had talked and texted to about five people this morning and they were helpful on getting me motivated to get in there and start. It's almost like you feel you just want to go home and never turn back. That is not an option for me. I am praying so hard that I can get through this job do a great job but most of all have panic attacks haunting me. I got home and was unable to be anything it came right back up
i'm going to try and keep a Xanax down and hopefully sleep this off hopefully tomorrow will be a better day I need this job so badly. I feel like a complete failure I never thought for one second that I would be 42 years old, single, and struggling to get a job with all of the experience that I have and a college education and the one thing that's keeping me back is this illness.
People who don't have this have no idea and want you to just snap out of it. We all know that this is impossible.
Thank you for listening and I am sorry for the long message. But I wanted to find out if anyone has been going through this and what they have done.I need all the support that I can to get through tomorrow. Please pray for me. :-(
