JustWantNormal, I have tried Ambien and Lunesta for sleep at separate times. Neither of them did anything. I also tried Prozac and celexa and same results. However I have not tried the medicine that ebeth mentioned, Paxil. So I can talk about that with my doctor when I see him in 2 weeks.
I just hope I can make it till then. Every day is such a challenge, especially with school finals starting next week for me and I'm putting in a lot of hours at work. It's just miserable.
I also take buspar and celexa with xanax as needed.
Now that my finals are done, I hope my symptoms will be less severe, although they're still pretty bad right now. The night terrors especially just mess me up so much.
I'm also having trouble building enough confidence to talk with a therapist about these problems. That's one of the issues I had with my last one was that I couldn't effectively communicate how debilitating these attacks are without seeming too emotional or going overboard so I would overcompensate for that, and say they weren't too bad.
I have this issue because my dad drilled into my head when I was a kid that if a guy has any mental issues then he is weak and a coward. so obviously now as an adult I know that's wrong but I still can't completely get out of that mindset because that's what I grew up on. I try to get it out of my head but its always in the back of my mind when I talk to people about these problems so I tend to play down how bad and terrible they are so I don't sound like a baby.
