I got fired from my job of 5 years today "because I am no longer a reliable left-hand man to help contribute to the success of the business."
I had to leave in the middle of my shift on Saturday due to a really bad panic attack. My normal meds weren't working, so after an hour I decided to go the the ER. This is the first time I have ever missed work in my 5 years there and I was fired for it!!! I was second in charge at this location.... with 80+ employees under me. How could this happen to me? I was good at my job and cared about it.

Can they do that? is it legal? dont you need a warning or something. doesnt sound like the kind of firm id like to work for , one day in five years and your out!!!

This is so not cool. They can't get rid of you for having a mental condition. Have you contacted EEOC? I would at least start there...this is unreal!

the regulars here will already know my message but really, a very large dose of any valium type med with the tablets disolved under the tongue would have enabled you to keep functioning, a migrane headache is a good enough excuse for this situation

I went threw the same thing about 2 weeks ago. when I was driving home i could feel my heart beating hard. Bosses can be dirt bags. your medical should still been in effect for a month more so get all the check ups you can.

That is my greatest fear...it keeps me from returning to work. I don't think they can do that if you have a Dr. note from the ER. I'd get a lawyer!

I would certainly check the legalaties of this action.. surely its discrimination!! certainly here in the UK they would not get away with such behaviour, its normally oral warning, then written then out!! im so sorry they have done this to you and i hope you seek legal guidance xx

I AGREE WITH EVERYONE ELSE.THIS DOSE NOT SOUND RIGHT.ONE DAY AND YOUR OUT? I WOULD LOOK INTO IT FUTHER,AND SEEK A LAWYERS ADVISE.
