I feel guilty because I'm unreliable and incapable. I feel like a burden to my family because not only can I not work, but I am finally considering going on disability - not that this will eliminate that guilt.
Before my disorder even showed its early signs, I was a man who put high value in self-sufficiency in many aspects.
So, I'm working on redefining and reframing much of my view on such things. If I ever get to a point of higher function, I'll probably feel stronger in many aspects because I will have learned to even master this terrible affliction.
When I'm good, I feel very strong and able to take on the world. When I'm bad, I get massively depressed and have difficulty keeping sight of the positive things, or even the possibility of them. It's like a dark tunnel-vision.
