Diane
Diane's right, this is more of family group. I joined FB just for the CP groups, but I learn more with this group. I would be very interested to know if the surgery helps your son long term. My GI said it is definitely a last resort. Unfortunately, I can't have the surgery unless they invent an enzyme I'm not allergic to. I take Viokace, but very low doses because I get covered in an itchy rash, and just for fun I get migraines on top of that. I adjusted to my dosage and it helped, but GI felt like it was too risky to increase the dose because of the side effects.
I hope your son continues to do well, it can really make a difference for his quality of life.
Take care,
Betty
So glad your son is eating...How are the two of you doing? Last time I talked to you he was heading back to the hospital.
When I last spoke to you I to was in the hospital, well I stayed there for 3 weeks, went home for 10 days then went back for another 5 days. But I have been home since then and have been doing IVIG treatments once a month. The GI doc has put me on tincture of opium and up my enzymes and I have been doing TPN..So things have changed since I talked to you. Seems that I don't absorb any nutrients from anything I eat... Can't believe the IVIG is finally starting to kick in, but by the end of the month I get real worn out & can tell I need more...
Glad you are back..Call me..
