I am home alone with this person. I'm sure they can tell that someone knows what is going on becauase the drugs are gone. I am afraid to leave because my room could get searched. I am afraid of this person getting confrontational and trying to angrily bluff their way out of this situation....needless to say the stress from this isn't exactly helping me!
Could you buy a safe?
Perhaps, you could speak to someone who has training in addiction?Obviously something is "not right" with the person who stole your meds.
Again, I am sorry you are dealing with this. Hugs.

Thank you guys so much for the responses. I find myself so shocked by the situation that it is hard to know what the best course of action is! We have now confronted my brother and he admitted to taking my pills. Luckily all pill bottles are accounted for. He swears that nothing left our house but I actually don't believe him. ALL PILLS THAT I DON'T NEED ARE DISPOSED OF. I feel like that is the safest course of action. The rest are hidden under lock and key. I am not pursuing criminal charges at this time but I most certainly will if it happens again.
The most troubling thing about all of this is the fact he told my father he was taking 4-5 pills at a time in some cases...I told my mom that she needs to understand I could be blamed for him killing himself if he accidentally took too many. This is one of the most sad and shocking things to ever happen to my family. I ask for your prayers and advice at this time!
I mean, it was just a case of not knowing I couldn't trust someone. You would think that a brother could be trusted. I had no idea he had issues with substance abuse like this. I mean, I have been so careful to always lock my car or keep my purse with me at all times when out in public. I don't leave any bottles laying where strangers or visitors might see them. I mean I am generally the most paranoid person I know! This just completely came out of left field.
I had an ER nurse pocket my morphine and no one would believe me and I had to wait 6 hours to get any pain medication. I saw him put the syringe in his pocket and then write something in my chart. The nurses in my room kept telling that the morphine was affecting my thinking and I was trying to tell them that my thinking was just fine because I had no pain medication in me.
