Welcome to the funny farm, and just so you won't think your bein ignored I figured I would put in my two cents which is about what its worth. First our resident medical persons disclaimer, ask your doctor, and anything told to you on here is solely the opinion of the person whose pie hole it came outta. lmao now that we have that cleared up, my own cp pain is right side just below the rib cage but can and does move sometimes, depends on how upset my panc is with me. Having pain after eating is one of the symptoms of cp but is also a symptom of a bunch of gastro intestional problems so don't jump into this disease unless everything else on earth has been excluded cause this ain't something I would wish on my worse enemy if I had one, hee hee hee. Find a ood gi doctor and get this checked as acute attacks left untreated can eventually cause chronic pancreatitis, which isn't treatable in the conventional sense and isn't curable. on believe me, I know I don't Want this problem but I nave Spent 3 yrs trying to figure this out! I have a GI doc that I really like but he just wants to increase pain meds (anti-spasm) but wont really communicate with me. I am currently seeking another opinion. Thanks for your reply!

hey my names dave ive had CP 4 over 3 three years now my pan pain is across my solar plexis in the center of my chest then theres the nausea and heartburn when i first came down with this my levels were in the thousands but now i have attacks with totally normal levels they automaticly admit me i take 16 mgs of hydromorphine per dose 4 pain 3 to 4 times a day i hope u had some kind of pain management its the only way to live with this well good luck feel free to message me any ques u might have

Hi Cowgirl welcome to the funny farm group....SOD def causes pancreas pain, but usually it is associated with liver enzyme abnormalities, but there are cases that the liver enzymes may be normal too. And with you describing that the pain happens right after you eat is also a symptom of SOD. Also with your gallbladder out scarred tissues where your gallbladder was once located can cause pain as well. I have that on the right side i always atrribute that to the scarring, and the left side to my pancreas ain that radiates to the back and sometimes feels like a tight belt has been wrapped around my diaphragm and is being tightened.

I am going to see a new doc April 2, and hopefully he will have some answers. I have also heard that my liver enzymes might be elevated with SOD, and with HH as well....I think that is why my doctor keeps running liver enzymes on me....but they keep coming back fine. The only thing that has ever been elevated with me was pancreatic lipase. I should add, I guess what makes me think it could be cp is the pattern of pain I have heard described, and how the chest pain plays into it for some people, along with the under the ribcage and pain that radiates to the back....whatever is wrong with me seems to go through "flare ups". Sometimes I can be so bold as to eat vegetable pizza (with REAL cheese) and sometimes consuming anything causes the pain. Like, literally for the last 24 hours I have had pain on the right side of my chest, like 2 inches over from my sternum, despite taking my meds for SOD (actually doubling them as per dr. request) and consuming under 10 grams of fat today.....people keep telling me to go to the ER....but as someone who almost always has normal bloodwork, I am gonna have to get a lot sicker....like puking.....before I think it is going to be worthwhile to go.... again thank you so much for all the info!
