I finally after 6 messages, heard back from my CP doc today. He basically said since the MRI was normal (as most are for me), that he didn't think surgery was called for. I agree with that.
He then went on to say he thinks I have acid reflux all my problems are from that, not my CP. Umm, I was diagnosed with acid reflux 15 YEARS ago and have been on medication for it since. He then asked if I took Amitrityline. And I said, yes for YEARS now (see my chart!).
I told him that when I met with the ENT doctor HE recommended at BIDMC, DR. Mallur thought my voice issue was due to stress, NOT acid reflux and that I needed speech therapy. Dr. Brown (my CP specialist) basically said that WASN"T what the ENT doctor said and he was waiting for the notes from that visit (which was almost 2 WEEKS ago!).
To make a horrible, evil story short, Dr. Brown, my specialist, accused me of lying (saying that I wasn't telling the truth!!!!!!!!). It's not the first time he's made that accusation and I just am bewildered as to why he would think such a thing. I mean, he can email or call Dr. Mallur and get the info and SEE I'm NOT making stuff up. WTF?
He doesn't remember his recommendation that I go on TPN (he suggested this back in May 2011 - some may remember me freaking out and that was what actually lead me to this site for support). He doesn't know what meds I"m on (despite the fact they're LISTED in front of him), doesn't remember his previous office sessions.
Does he just not care? An ego trip? Just plain stupid? I'm lost and so angry and frustrated. This has been going on for YEARS (over 7) and my life has been lost. Any chance of children, my job, many friends and family members. I had held out some hope since Dr. Brown always SEEMED to think he could help. But this is a HUGE blow. I just plain don't know what to do.

Maybe you should consider replacing this doctor.... I know how difficult that is - you made such a large investment with this man already. I'm sensing that I am going to be in a similar situation - I have already been told to switch by family members. How stupid that he would accuse you of lying. Sometimes "don't get mad, get even," as horrid as that sounds, is a better way to go. You don't need the stress and anger affecting your well being. You might have to make the break - assuming you can find someone through a recommendation.

I know how you feel...."your lying" is their easy answer because they do not know what to do for you. I have been there myself, as well as many others here, and understand. My only saving grace has been the pain doctor. As far as I'm concerned, at this point in time there is not much to be done except pain control, for ongoing chronic PC. Read the post here about how they are now finally "looking' for treatment options. Our problems have not gone un-noticed just not easily treated at this time. I agree with Maya49, you don't need the stess and anger.

Wow 7 years? Must be a world record, it only took me 3 years to finally get over being called a liar, hoarder, drug dealer, drug abuser,dr hopping and the ever proverbial alcoholic. It doesn't end Hun your just going to have to toughen the skin and do like I do I keep all my records on a flash drive , as soon as I get done with the dr appt I ask for his comments on paper then come home and scan it and put it on the flash drive, since I started doing this you won't believe the looks from the drs I get and not one time since have I been treated or have been called the above names .. And I got this idea a couple years ago on here from another friend and it works
