Hi all. I had my gallbladder removed two years ago (lap). I am experiencing almost constant nausea, and as a result my MD sent me Monday for a belly ultrasound. The tech, after about 15 minutes asked me the following: "when did you have the lap band surgery?" . I asked her to repeat a number of times, and then said, "Sorry, don't know what you mean.". She immediately said, "Oh, never mind". What the heck did she see on this ultrasound that made her think I had a lap band surgery?????????????????

Some background - I've had a DVT (in my leg), two mini-strokes, I have a small hole in my heart and have a blood disorder (FVL). Last think I need is something "banded" up in my belly.....

omg - you don't think they have done lap band surgery instead of gall bladder removal??

my friend had her GB removed and is also having nausea - I must check on how she is doing.

. she now things it was never Gall bladder attacks. which is a very painful condition.

unless they put a band around the gb. thingy to make it wider ???

she is either covering up or had the wrong card or u.sound report.
see your own doctor .. you really should have a copy of your procedure.

or if you had to have your stomach put back down your esophagus,which is normally called a hiatal hernia, and is common from the vomiting from over production of acid.They put a band on it to keep the stomach from coming back up i do believe.

I would get that clarified just in case. I remember when I would go to get my MRI of my pancreas and the techs would always ask me if I still had one or when did I have it removed??? I would be like what? I never had it removed and they would look puzzled and do that "nevermind" with me as well. And then when I went to get my gallbladder out in 2009 I then found out from the surgeon that I was only born with the head of my pancreas ....no wonder the techs were confused! So def ask you never know what could of happened. Keep us updated plz!
