I got the whey protein powder from a health food store because the ones they sell in stores have additives you don't need. Also if you have lactose intolerance it can bother you but for me it hasn't...if it would then you can get the egg white protein powder..that is my next thing I will be trying.

I also use a whey protein powder. It seems to work best for me and doesn't cause me any pain. I also can tell if I've missed a few days because I get really tired.

I use whey protein. I only wish I could find unflavored so all my smoothies don't taste like vanilla!

I think Trader Joe's has an unflavored whey. I buy the vanilla flavor by Aria but I'm a vanilla freak. I make vanilla, cinnamon sugar for my oatmeal. The protein powder helps keep my energy up. After I've been traveling for a few days and haven't been able to have my smoothies, I get very tired and it takes me a week to get my strength back.

Thanks GG. I don't go to Trader Joes often, but I was there a few weeks ago and didn't think to look! I know it's not an option for you, but when I'm traveling by car, I bring my Blendtec?

That's so funny, I looked at a Blendtec today and it would take up too much room in my luggage. Does it work well with froz fruit, etc?

Also, I bought a Ninja, my current blender was 10 years old & getting tired. It was a commercial blender so it pured anything, but it was loud. My hubby hated it, we'll see how the Ninja does in terms of noise.

I really like the Ninja I got the one with the single serve attachment in addition to a large blender and it really pured the fruit & veg. The single serve pured frozen pineapple, mangos, etc really quickly and quietly. The blender has this really long blending piece so it just breaks anything down. I really like it and my hubby does too cuz it's much quieter & quicker than my old blender.

Diane- I would check it out. I got mine at Kohls...it's a dangerous store for me, with Kohls cash & the discount coupons they send , they keep you coming back.

GG, the Blentec would blend the kitchen sink! Yes, it does well with frozen fruit and ice cubes. As far as noise goes, they're all noisy. But my dogs don't bark anymore!

Trader Joe's sells a Women's Protien Powder. About $15. I believe It contains 3 grams of fat, so I normally half it and drink it with skim milk.

LOL, it seems some others have used the same TJ's protein. :)
