Good morning my friend and it seems to me we all have too many doctors saying things like that doesn't make sense, well hell this whole condition doesn't make sense, so get over it and treat the problem for pity's sake. I too have more trouble at night. Sleep isn't something I'm real familiar with these days. I'm lucky if like last night I can manage a few hours in short bits. Many nights I'm up all night, and it doesn't matter whether the doctor understands that or not just realize it is what is happenning and help if they can. Here's hoping you have a pain free day, and a more understanding doctor tomorrow. Troy

I haven't been diagnosed 100% yet, but I do know my pain is not to bad between 4-11pm and after that it is like crazy. I am usually up most of the night and sleep in till like 11am and mornings are bad for me too. Not sure if this helps or not.

Hey Everyone, I myself have no rhyme or reason for my pain, sometimes it is worst in the day and sometimes at night....nothing with my pancreatitis pain is consistent. So a doctor should never say it doesnt make sense...this is a disease that isn't predictable or easily managed. I hope everyone is feeling less pain today. Hugs

i was diagnosed with cp about a year ago.
although in the begining my pain was intermitent it is now pretty consistent.
having said that, first thing in the morning it is just a niggle that i know is there as the day goes on it gets worse by about 4,oopm it is becoming more intense, this will then last through the night.
at the moment i only take pain relief in the evening sometimes starting at around 4 but if i'm having a good day not till i want to go to bed.
but as i am sure everyone will agree it is never totally consistent everyday is a different journey.

I would agree yes that pain is not consistant it is unpredictable and at the least you could say very unfortunate that we have to feel pain but it has always been worse for me at night. which makes it hard to function thoughout the day. I appreciate all your respones its good to know we are not in this alone although i wish you all the best and hope that we all find the pain relief that at least makes it bearable to function. good luck to you all i sincerely mean that!

I agree, my pain is so much worst in the evening and through out the night. I can't get comfortable and so much pain,bloating and presure in the upper part of my stomach, sleeping is very difficult these days. I am so glad to have found this group, I finally feel like I am not going crazy and others are experiencing the same issues...Thanks

My wife always seems to have worse pain at night going into the morning.

My pain has been much worse in the early evening and through the night lately, not sure what started it off but am hoping that it will settle again soon, but i have found that a very hot, hot water bottle, as hot as you can stand it on the main area of pain does seem to ease it.
i have even taken to raising my pillows to almost a sitting position and putting the hot water bottle behind me. it does seem to help a bit and i am able to get some sleep, i hope this helps someone else.

For some reason heat seems to bother me if it is directly put where i feel pain i get very uncomfortable.

Mine seems to get worse in the early hours of the morning, I find heat helps me, I put a heat pad on my back for a while them my abdomen which usually gives me some releif. I think Doctors who deal with us should have to read this site myabe they would have a lot more insight as to what we are all going through!

i agree Deb24 doctors should be on this site to get all the insight they need and stop this "if it isnt by the book it isnt possible" attitude.

For me at night it's hell and if I skip sleep I don't understand how I'm still alive kinda pain. Man I wish you all a pain free life and for myself too. God knows how much I want this to end

I am experiencing the same thing lately I don't sleep with food in my tummy i get belching and burp a lot and throw up eventually. I get my sleep during the day.

My pain is all day everyday. My pain worse at night. No relief

Hi all,
I went to ER yesterday. Normal lipase, very slightly elevated amylase seems it's always 116 normal is < 110. Everything else is normal. Ct Scan with contrast was normal. They are advising endoscopy. So scheduled for that on Wednesday. Still waiting for elastase stool test results. Hope that comes back clear. No pain today yet, but I have not eaten yet. Today make 7 months of this. So tired and frustrated. Our sick from work.
