I am so sorry you got such bad care in the ER. My daughter has been in and out only to come back 12 hours later! Also with high levels ...and very dehydrated...

With a flare up we stop eating...drink little sips of water and wait for the pancreas to settle down.
then start on a liquid diet and slowly progress to eating normal food....low fat....
Sugar is something the doctors don't seem to talk about....crazy! Carbs and sugar put a strain on the pancreas...
