After 2 long years, 7 hospital stays from Pancreatitis attacks, I can put it to rest. Local doctors tried 2 years but could not find a reason. They told me I would have to live with this. But my wonderful wife didn't let me give up.
I was referred to the famous, Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis. They found a 14mm adenoma (growth) that was growing out of my pancreas and stopping the flow. They went down my throat and removed it.
But this revealed I had pre-cancerous tissue in that area, in in my lymph nodes. The solution was a huge 5-hour operation (Whipple Procedure). I had the surgery recently. Man, that is one surgery that takes the life out of you for months. But, it rid me of pancreatitis, and my pre-cancer.
My advice is this... do not give up. Get your doctor to recommend you to a very high end hospital. If I would have listened to my local doctors, I surely would have died of Pancreatic Cancer several years from now, and lived with Pancreatitis attacks until then.
Thank you Lord, giving me a wife that pushed me to find the solution. She kept telling me there is a cause/effect relationship and I needed to find it.

I have cp and they found a cyst in the head of my pancreas that is precancer. Im told that the wipple will get rid of all my problems. Im schedualed for it Aug 4th at a Pittsburgh hospital. I am scared. Your post made me feel like theres hope with this. Im 39 and in good health otherwise. Very nervous here but hoping for a good outcome. The idea of not living with all these problems is wonderful tho. I prob read too much about it and have been worried.

Glad you are better. Dr. Mullady is the best! I had two hospitalizations at local hospitals, researched and found him. I went there hoping for answers. Although the still consider mine idiopathic he has helped greatly in other ways. I have had problems with digestion and the doctors here in town kept treating me for flu like symptoms. Called Dr. Mullady scheduled an appointment and within the first five minutes diagnosed me. I am now on Creon to help me digest my food. My family knows if I have another attack just take to to St. Louis, I don't want to mess with the local doctors anymore. The 3 hour drive is more than worth it.

What an inspirational and wonderful experience - thank you for sharing and thanks to your wife for following her intuition! It sounds like you're doing very well. I'm having two consults here in IN soon on the Whipple - what do you recommend I ask the surgeons? Also, how do you suggest I prepare as the patient for pre and post op care?
