Hi everyone,
I would like to ask if anyone else suffers with "hypothyroidism" along with chronic pancreatitis? I was dx'ed 2 months ago, put on 25 mg. of levothyroxine,(a starter dose) but so far it's not working, as I've put on 20 lbs.in 2 months, while dieting... it's very frustrating. My GP said to stay away from carbs- to lose weight-- which I'm finding almost impossible with the cp. ?! It's so confusing, I feel, at times, I'm reaching the end of my rope.(Sorry about the negativity)
Btw, I also have Sjogren's Syndrome, which is an autoimmune disorder where your body attacks itself, particularly the moisture producing glands, (salivary,and others). It's systemic-- meaning it can attack your vital organs- heart, kidneys, lungs, etc.. I know it can be problematic with the endocrine/exocrine system as well. So I really don't know if it caused my pancreatitis initially... but, at this point, I guess it doesn't really matter.
Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.

Actually had my thyroid removed several years ago, due to the Hemochromatosis, so I totally understand.. Between CP & HH my diet is all messed up & I crave carbs all the time.. Guess that could be the reason for the weight gain. Current have lost 30+ pounds with the recent CP attack and the infection.. So hope I won't get the carb craving again.. It is a battle.. Good luck..
