I have posted in the past. It's been a while since my last post about my wife. I am not saying this is the reason women get Pancreatitis but just about our success. My wife suffered from Pancreatitis for 6-7 years. At one point she was admitted one every 2 months for 4-5 days for 3 years.. John Hopkins wanted to take out her Pancreas. We realized her attacks coincided with her menstruation and ovulation. We were lucky we have such a great Dr. and he spoke to other doctors about a hysterectomy. So, at 37years of age, my wife had her healthy uterus and cervix removed. She did have some endometriosis but they said it was the healthiest uterus and cervix they have ever removed. Menopausal effects were hard for her for 6 months to a year due to not being able to use estrogen to help the side effects. But, now it's 22 months since her surgery and she has only been hospitalized once, about 14 months after. She gets a couple milder attacks on occasion but we have our lives back. I'm not saying every woman should yank out her Uterus but if you find that there might be a correlation, look at your options. We said before the surgery, if it kept her out of the hospital for a year, it would be a success. We consider our story a success...just sharing..
