hi, so i was diagnosed with pancreatitis two years ago (im 17) and i had 8 "attacks" before my pancreas finally settled down but tragedy has struck and i started to have an attack the other day. when i have an attack, it affects my sleep. Last night i only got around 2 1/2 hours out of the 8 i need to really function. im in grade 12 and even missing one day of school can badly affect me and my grades...does anyone else experience this and have any tips on how i can get more sleep during the night?! it would be really appreciated! thankyou!!!

If it continues go to the hospital. Stay away from food with lots of fat. Maybe stick with just chicken broth and saltine crackers. Food with fat can make it worse. If you go to the hospital they will make you NPO (nothing by mouth) and you will be on an IV until your lipase and amylase in your blood work show it is normal. Hope this help. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. I myself don't have acute or chronic pancreatitis but my daughter has chronic pancreatitis and is type 1 diabetic for 4 years now.

Do you have hereditary chronic pancreatitis. It sounds like you might have that particular disease given your age? Are you diagnosed with any form of chronic pancreatitis?

I would be happy to discuss your situation with you. I have been successfully battling chronic pancreatitis for a few years.
