Hey all,
I haven't written a post in a while but I'm in need right now. I'm wondering if anyone would share when enough is enough for them and what are the signals that tell you to get admitted to the hospital.

I've been off solids pretty much for 3 weeks. 10 days ago, I started vomiting even liquids. Now, it hurts to even breath especially deeply. Even going to the bathroom makes my heart race and I'm out of breath. And the pain... it's bad. I'd say a 9 and climbing. Add to that I'm alone at home with no car and only my dog. I'm a little nervous.

BUT... I really hate getting admitted and they always keep me for weeks (1-3 usually). AND I already did my time in March! This isn't on my calendar.

BUT THEN AGAIN... I feel myself slipping and the pain is taking over. What to do? How sick is sick? I have to be mostly dead (from the Princess Bride - anyone know that movie?) to volunteer to get admitted. HELP!

It's passed time to go. You should have been there when you started vomiting liquid. Shut off the computer and head to the - I hate to say it -emergency room. I know it sucks but you can't last long without fluids staying in. Good luck and god bless. I will say a prayer for you as nothing else seems to work.

hey, Ta so much for the feedback. I KNOW I need to be in the hospital . I KNOW it. I can fell it. But I really, really, really don't want to go. REALLY! You know? Maybe I'll send my doctor an email - sort of a SOS (my old, most beloved doc used to say that - she left tho). Sigh... Ta again. You are the only response and I'm so very grateful at least someone heard my cry for help! Ta, Nibs

PS: I'm not saying that I don't have a lot of wonderful friends here BTW - just that they didn't happen to see this! This site has already saved my life once...

Yes. There were many replies to your other post and we all agree: GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!! YOU WON'T LAST LONG IF YOU CAN'T KEEP LIQUIDS DOWN. The longer you wait, the worse it will get. The pancreas likes to be swimming in fluid. No fluids = severe pain. I sent you some chicken soup earlier hoping you were reading it in the hospital. I know it sucks but you have to go! Do you need a ride? Call 911 and get an anbulance and pack for a few days as you may be there for a few. Good luck and God Bless. Chris...

perhaps next time your gi specialist could set up something that u don't have to go to hospital straight away.
I have pain meds. and path slip. he then rings me and admits me. I have a letter... so I don't have to do emergency.
