First: I did post this on ask for advice but wasn't sure if everyone saw that... sorry if I bugged you all twice! Nibs

Hey all,
I haven't written a post in a while but I'm in need right now. I'm wondering if anyone would share when enough is enough for them and what are the signals that tell you to get admitted to the hospital.

I've been off solids pretty much for 3 weeks. 10 days ago, I started vomiting even liquids. Now, it hurts to even breath especially deeply. Even going to the bathroom makes my heart race and I'm out of breath. And the pain... it's bad. I'd say a 9 and climbing. Add to that I'm alone at home with no car and only my dog. I'm a little nervous.

BUT... I really hate getting admitted and they always keep me for weeks (1-3 usually). AND I already did my time in March! This isn't on my calendar.

BUT THEN AGAIN... I feel myself slipping and the pain is taking over. What to do? How sick is sick? I have to be mostly dead (from the Princess Bride - anyone know that movie?) to volunteer to get admitted. HELP!

Go to the Hospital! what would tell me I have to go would be vomitting and pain that is out of control...and if you have been doing that for 10 days... I would say its about time! Plus, if you can't even drink anything you are not going to get bettter...you need the IV fluids to help you get over this! Nobody likes going to the hospital...

Definitely sounds like hospital time. I understand not wanting to go. i do the same things, I have to be dying before Ill go because I too always end up being there for weeks. When my pain is past a 10 and I have a higher pain threshold then alot of people i know, I am throwing up for over a week, even liquids, I can barely take a breath cuz that makes it worse, and I am getting dizzy and seeing colored spots and my ears ring when I stand up, and I am liking barely able to stand up because Im so weak, thats when I call my dr and he always admits me directly. He always gets mad at me for waiting so long, but that last place I want to be is the hospital for 2 or more weeks. Then Im at the hospital that whole time still puking, not able to have a bowel movement for weeks, and just on massive pain killers for weeks. So yes it is time for you to go to the hospital. I always hate leaving my dog too, because hes like my child, but you need to get help now before it gets worse then it already sounds like it is

i love that film. but pain that affects your breathing is pain. .. hospital time. perhaps they can give you a plan for next time
i have drugs
and path slip to get bloods done now before being admitted.
i find that it is too painful to lay in the bed.
