Patients with chronic pancreatitis can present with persistent abdominal pain or steatorrhea, as well as severe nausea. I take a lot of the hormone supplement that we call vitamin D3 (it isnt actually a vitamin). D3 helps with a wide variety of things in our body.
I also take tumeric supplements. It is known as a huge anti-inflammatory and for me it has proven to be true.
Another herb for pancreatits is called gentian. But Im having trouble finding affordable ones and it doesnt seem to grow in my area. I tried the liquid form of it and it was horribly bitter but that is a good thing because the biliary system (the pancreas, ducts, liver, gall bladder) do well with the bitters.
The deadly pancreatitis inflammation no longer seems to be an issue for me which means the continued deadly very damaging spread of it seems to have either stoped or been slowed down a ton.
My main issues now is the damage caused by that deadly spreading inflammation left unknown and untreated for decades. The damage for me is the killed pancreas beta cells making me be a brittle type 1 diabetic and the inflmmation also killed off my pancreas ability to make enough digestive enzymes which is why I need large amounts of enzyme pills. Because of all that I have the terrible intestional and pancreas pains.
But there is hope because the inflammation can be slowed down and I am proof of that.
It's worth a try anyways. Do your repearch before trying something new though.
All hope is not lost.
I dont know about Curcumin and pancreatits but now because of that article and yall's posts Id like to research it more and see if it is something I should try. Thank you for the info :)
I am taking the Grapeseed extract and have seen improvement. I am also taking Vit C, Vit A, Vit D, Vit E, and selenium. All recommended by my GI. I tried the Curcumin/turmeric, but because my common bile duct has stenosis they don't recommend turmeric as a treatment. It can cause problems. I did take the curcumin for a while and started having a lot more pain. When I talked to my doctor about it, he told me that it wasn't recommended if you have CBD issues. The overcoming pancreatitis also says the same thing, but I missed it. I can't take ibuprofen because I also have internal bleeding, they don't know why. I wish i could rather than the heavy duty narcotics. I am really concerned about the long term use of the narcotics, but I don't have any other options...other than laying in bed in pain. At least when I take the meds, I can have a somewhat normal life.
Good luck with this regimen, I hope it helps!
