So sorry to hear that you are still feeling bad. Any chance you caught a flu or cold bug? It's going around here, I've been down for a few days with fever, sore throat, cough...fun!! Otherwise, cp can suck the energy out of us and our poor bodies. It is good news that you have a definitive diagnosis. That seems to be a big struggle for many but very beneficial when dealing with treatments and insurance. Hang in there and keep us posted. Have a better day!

Ty wendy! I was researching post eus and I came across some problems. Most people that have biopsies tend to have problems with feeling ill afterwards. So I believe that is what caused it. I just hope I feel better soon. This is aggravating.

I recall reading a post from someone here that her doctor didn't do a biopsy during EUS because it can cause problems but didn't specify what type of problems.

Were the biopsy results what gave you a diagnosis? Or did they see something during the EUS? Is your treatment plan changing as a result? Trying to decide how to proceed with various testing.

My Dr. told me that I he has long suspected cp but wasn't 100% sure until the eus confirmed it. So now he said there are a few things he might try to treat me with. I have no idea what yet. The appointment isn't till march. I will get the biopsy results then as well. I don't remember talking to him cause I was still loopy, but the paper he gave me said my pancreas was inflammed and scarred and that cp was the diagnosis. I even asked the nurses because honestly I was surprised. I knew i had it for years, but it's nice to get a for sure diagnosis after all this time.

I am seriously considering a tpict. I just don't know if or when I would go through with it. I can handle the pain. I don't even take pain meds for that. I just don't like the way I feel sick. Its annoying and the tired run down thing is getting old. Like 5 years ago old.

Did you have a US before the EUS? If so, did everything look normal on US? My US didn't show any abnormalities and I'm not sure I want to do the EUS. I don't have pain and haven't had any attacks. My only symptom of possible cp is fat malabsorption which was triggered by abdominal surgery. An intestinal problem hasn't been ruled out.

Yes I have had ultrasounds. Thing is it was a long time ago. It was normal at the time, but then again way back then so was my eus. Which of course this recent one was not. Honestly, don't do anything unless you have to. Once you do it's all a rolling snowball of building up problems. Trust me, I have went downhill since 2006 and haven't really gotten better all that much since then.

I hope what I tell people helps. I just don't want anyone that needs one of those test to not get it. It's just such a sensitive thing. If you have them do an eus without a biopsy you should do fine. They don't really have any side effects. The ercp now that one does. Only do it last if needed.

Right - EUS that is just "looking around" shouldn't cause a problem so I would want to write on my consent form nothing but "looking around!" Of course, many surgeons would probably be offended by that. I've been accused of being a non-compliant patient but that's what got me into this mess!

Well Ive never seen anyone have problems from a regular eus without biopsy. But I guess anything can happen. Bad thing is, I didn't know I was gettting the biopsy till It was too late. you just can't trust dr's.

You can have problems from an EUS but it's much less likely than with an ERCP. Maybe try sticking to liquids for a couple days and see if it settles down.

I'm actually back to normal now. I feel great today! Gonna go to my kung fu class tomorrow.

When i was 14 i had a ERCP, that was in my opinion a horrible option especialy when you are so young and dont know what you are getting into but the doctors push and push. I ended up having a major pancreatic attack after and told by doctors lucky to still be around. Def with the ERCP do the research weigh the pros and cons, just like any procedure take it seriously.
