if the cyst is close to your stomach they go down your throat and insert a stent through the stomach wall into the cyst and let it drain.
you may have a kick off as the panc does not like being messed with but the end result is worth it.
if the cyst is to far from the stomach its possible to drain some of the fluid with a needle through the stomach into the cyst.
another option is to insert a drain through your side into the cyst and let it drain into a bag, you would have to stay in while the cyst finishes draining.
the last option is an opp and they can attach the cyst to the stomach this is a last resort .
whatever they do and what ever discomfort you feel believe me you will so much better when the cyst is drained.
good look ken
I wish I had asked the size before I posted this. when I saw the doctor, she said I had three benign cysts smaller than 6mm each but still she wants to do an ercp. She said they came from past acute pancreatic attacks. I have no stones anywhere, of which I am thankful, so no blockages. I think my pancreatitis was started either by infection from untreated appendicitis or daptamycin, a very strong antibiotic to treat mrsa by infusion.
I have been very tired lately due to doctor's appointments, my sister trying to keep me on my feet, etc. My migraines are acting up to. I have been too tired to write lately. I am sorry. I am a sporadic respondee.
