Am'I alone with such symptoms

Hi, new to this group, mainly trying to navigate the medical world. I have had almost 10 episodes of acute pancreatitis ending up in Hospital with gastric tubes. Was totally my fault and abuse of alcohol which I'm not using anymore. Over the last 3 years, I have developed pain in the upper portion of the belly, but my GI track doctor does not fully support the Chronic pancreatitis diagnostic because the pain appears in a very uncommon location. it is located where the plexus is, just below it to be exact. It is a stabbing pain, that also goes on the back and radiates, it appears after absorbing food or liquid and it is very painful. Sure enough CT SCAN are only showing pretty much normal image and the lipases are always around 20...It has been an ongoing battle since 3 years with GI track and visit to the ER and since my lipases are always fine, the only thing that I get out of the ER DOCTORS is: "are you seeking drug", because they cannot relate the pain to anything they can understand being in relation with the pancreas


My question is, is there any other people who have similar experience with pain that are very similar to pancreatitis pain but located in the "wrong place".... I'm getting desperate trying to figure out. After month of messing around, I finally got a referral to a pancreas surgeon, not that I have more hope but I'm very willing to try anything and everything under the sun


So, if anyone have had similar experience, I would extremely appreciate if you can share it

Hi Phil I do not know if you solved the problem and if you maybe had surgery? I am new here as well since I was trying to find a group that might help me to find what to do with my wife's problem. Haven't had much luck here but read quite a lot about gut health and ways to reduce my wife's pain. One of the things that we did is we opted for TCM - Traditional Chinese medicine instead of western doctors. We had quite a few reasons for that. My wife is on herbs right now and a strict NO GLUTEN diet in order to regain a healthy gut. Much of her pain is gone and we hope to overcome other issues soon.

They have right now a documentary about "leaky gut" - something that MD's (at least 90% of them) do not know much about.

yes I have been treated similarly in hospitals and doctor offices for severe pain. It's not IBS I am sure of it due to the acute attacks with vomiting in my case, but doctors just think I want drugs. wasn't strong enough to argue with doctors so much after having to argue with insurance so much that I need doctors in the first place. so I too have gone to the natural realm...avoiding foods that cause inflammation can help as a start (gluten, dairy, etc), and be careful of anyone selling claiming a "cure"; it's not that simple. research anyone and anything that contributes to your health. For me, it's a mix of finding the right diet,, the right herbs and acupuncture as I can afford. Good luck, and don't be afraid to seek a second opinion!
