My sister had the same treatment and was sick in the beginning but it passed pretty good for her towards the end of the chemo regimen. There all kinds of meds that they can give her to help with the nausea, vomiting and general feeling of malaise. They gave my sister Ativan IV in the beginning of each treatment and she Emend and a steriod for 3 days each to ease some of the symptoms.
I would say persevere with the treatment. My sister did and it reduce her tumor by 2/3. She is now a surgical candidate where she wasn't in the beginning. She was diagnosed in Feburary with Stage III/IV with little hope. I'm just glad she stuck with the treatment because the surgeon said she will be cancer free after the surgery (Whipple) is done.
Tell her not to give up hope and keep on trying. Talk to the docs.
Thank you for your reply, my friend has joined us for dinner today, she has been taken off Chemo for 3 week because of the sickness, and a high liver function reading, but the other med for the sickness make her very sleepy, she has last week had a scan, we are all just hoping it is good news when she goes back for the results.
Best wishes to all,
Linda

Not sure about her liver problems, she just told me her liver reading was not good, she has had no Chemo for 3 weeks, just awaiting the results of the MRI scan, which is a week tomorrow.
