I love my U,S friends,but U,S politics is scary,whose on the shopping list next Iran,same ole story being trotted out, oh get em quick they gonna kill us all with dem big nasty bombs.
Who dropped TWO really nasty ones on the Japanise???

I can't speak for all the good folks here in our lovely neighborhood, NDY, but I suspect that many have stayed away from the post completely because the subject implies it to be about religion, politics, or both which are not popluar topics to talk about in mixed company as you know. I opened it with trepidation myself. Even still having opened it, I'm not quite sure what to say about it myself. And as you know, that says a lot considering I'm wordy like Dickens.

There is a revolution coming, folks. I pray that when we "Take back our country", it's done with music and ballots, but I'm afraid that won't be enough. So I play the song and sing along, as I clean my weapons. I will be ready if/when the time comes. Paranoid? Maybe so, but I like to error on the side of caution and preparedness. Bigger guns, bigger bombs, mean nothing without better trained and "born again" pilots. Once again, the world, Including many of US, have underestimated the American's Love of Freedom.

So, to para-phrase Lee Iacocca, Load, and Follow, or Get the hell out of Dodge.

tried to post a response but ds ate it. i did not listen to the song, the twang irks me like fingernails on a chalk board. however when it comes to America i have a strong opinion. some may feel i'm polly anna and that's ok, everyone's entitled to their opinion =) i believe that america is the most amazing country ever, and will continue to be because of the people, which is what my d/s name refers to, my citizenship. it was built by those who had an insane desire to escape persecution and desire for freedom and that desire still burns strong today. we still argue passionately on street corners, on the web and anywhere two people can about issues. as a country we have never swept our dirt under the rug, we talk about it usually with great heat. and as a people we do something about it, our hands are not tied by fear of government retribution, we do not live in fear of a knock at the door. which in many countries is all too real, just ask my colleague from the Ukraine. i do not have a lot of faith in the government, it is a huge organization run by people who have a vested interest in their small part, but i have unshakable faith in the people. it met a terrible test on 9/11 and showed me it is well placed. i'll get off my soap box now, thanks for allowing me to talk about how much i love my country and how proud i am to be an American.

I do think some other countries are pretty cool, are free as can possibly be.

I think that even with restrictions, we are pretty dang free here, my mom has a friend who lives in Estonia, by Russia, she came here was amazed at all we have, my little apt to her was grand, she is a teacher in Estonia, says that she has been through rough times.

Feel lucky as a woman to be here with the freedoms that some countries do not provide for females.

What I don't like is the idea that we are BETTER-this is not a school yard, where some of the kids are saying- I'm better than you.....I do appreciate our freedoms, but I will be dang if I am going to go around, saying we are better! Uh about our bombs being better-bigger??? SO what? so ours killed more people? Oh Please-is that what we are reduced to? OUR bombs are better at killing than yours are? I think many do not care for us because of that attitude-arrogance never solved anything. So maybe I am a dreamer, don't think wars are so hot, UH big business? WARS are about money it seems. We all have to get along in this world, our earth or I think we are screwed. We all have to find a way to compromise-there are always going to be evil empires, can be depressing when you think about it.

AM glad I live here, glad to be here, VERY thankful, but dang if I am going to go around saying we are better-we have good things here, but so do other countries.

AM VERY grateful grateful to be born here, raised here-living here-no, our govt is not perfect by any means but what really is?

Job vocational rehab programs-All run by federal or state govt.

I DO VOTE-have since I was 18
Do go to Jury Duty-have to on Dec 9, call to see if I am to go on Dec 12

Politicians DO run the country, they say they report to us, but not always-US do not speak out enough to be heard. Squeaky wheel gets the grease
We do have a voice but the way the voting system is, it is not always heard.
Not enough people vote.
Many people only vote for BIG issues, big election years.

THIS is what I was ANSWERING ... When i inferred that the IRISH, English, & Japanese had ALSO used BOMBS - I might add here - ALSO on women & children - in Department Stores, on City Streets, (Ever heard of an "Irish Car Bomb Cocktail"? ), from the AIR, and pipe bombs, Mahlintopf Cocktail bottle bombs, etc.. AS IF they were all SO innocent & Big, ol "nasty" Americans were the BAD GUYS.. Truman brought the WWII to an end with those "nasty ones on the Japanise" . I was JUST clearing up the issue!

YOU can't TALK about the Topic IF you Don't listen to the "song * (Doesn't sound like most did) as it is the Man's Anthem the CREED that He lives BY! Though I did appreciate the comment from those who couldn't physically tolerate it..

When I Replyed that "Ours was BETTER" I was replying to the remarks that were said. I guess i should have added --- IMO --- Maybe in Cyberland that would have cleaned it up somewhat.. HOWEVER -

I M O ~ ( And especially HERE on OTF we are each ENTITLED to our OWN opinions - I want to ENCOURAGE that BUT we must THINK carefully about our words as they may "come back to haunt US"...( As in MY case! )

And as in ...

I REFUSE to accept that WHAT I SAID was "ARROGANCE" - I was merely pointing out that the IRISH-UK folks DID in spurts what we took care of in "two nasty bombs".. And what about the thousands of Americans who "gave it ALL" we celebrated last week?

Furthermore about USA being "BETTER" ( schoolyard or NOT )

I TOTALLY agree with ALL of these comments! We don't LIVE in a "Dream World".. We have to remain diligent, on -guard & prepared YET work toward "Miss America's - World Peace"!

WE HAVE to be "BORN AGAIN AMERICAN-VOTERS" and MAKE the politicians ANSWER to OUR concepts & OUR ideals. We need to REMIND them What their CAMPAIGN PROMISES were all about!!.. Remind our Neighbors to get out & vote - Heck! Take them to the polls if we can - Make sure they VOTE !!

ThePeople, there's a link to read the words. Check it out. I'm one of those whose job went overseas. My job search showed me jobs under a living wage with no benefits. I finally gave up and am living on disability. It's not much, but I can get by. I grew up being taught if I worked hard enough, I could make a living and it worked for a while. My last long term job was great until a big corporation bought the company. They took my over time which meant 1/3 of my salary. They made money, but I lost my living.
