I wish I could type... this two finger stuff isnt as good as it could be. I am fast.... for two fingers, but slow writing 1000 words.

Not sure it is an activity but I am always so stressed and I would like to learn to meditate. I try but can't focus.

Gone ~ When I was in college I had severe test anxiety (exacerbated by the rest of my anxieties!). I could NEVER meditate up unto that point. But bec of the reason that I needed to focus, I investigated many sources. I found some 'self-hypnosis' tapes that involved visualizing.You lay on the couch/bed and listen to the tape "as you walk along beside a beautiful babbling brook..etc."

Surprisingly, it took a while but it worked for me. After a while, when I began to feel anxious, test or no, I would just "sink back into that memory" of how relaxed I felt as I lay on my bed visualizing this babbling brook and my strolling alongside of it."

I relaxed so well that I graduated college at age 57, cum laude (and an accelerated masters, including a 4.0 Dissertation, at 59). I had been given the tape from the college therapist but I am positive you could get something at this link:

WHAT EXTRA TIME? First - I would like to learn "Speed Reading" as I have "stacks of clutter" as my apartment manager calls them. Or,as my one daughter says my apt "looks like a newstand" bec I have so many magazine subscriptions in addition to the newspapers & catologs that I am backed up on because of working-out takes up so much of my time these days!

But "who cares?" I live by myself and I am not out to 'impress me'!! People who come here can 'kiss my assests' ! if they don't like how it looks -- They needn't come back! And that goes TRIPLE for my apartment manager ! In fact she would make my year if she didn't!!!

Secondly, I would like to take some courses from "The Great courses" that I receive in the mail. They have everything that you could ever want to learn about. Myself - I am particularly fascinated by the brain/learning. (Perhaps bec I am a literacy instructor having been trained when I was in AmeriCorp in my college days in the '90s.)

I am also interested in Nutrition and in Biology (how the body heals) .. But you go there & see what interests you.. Oh ! And they have 70% sales ALL the time! One of these days...

to play the bass clef on the piano...i can play treble w/o too much trouble as i can read it well but after middle c i gotta figure it all out!

those who wanna learn to type - learn the 'home keys,' then try some free online typing - or typoing - as the case may be games. chrome has one or two you can download. you will probably pick up speed quickly with a little practice =)
