I saw this news and was wondering if anyone saw this and what you all think about it?

I live in Portland, this is this is the first I've heard of this. I would definitely ask my oncologist about it.

there is something like this being done in Mexico, similar to dialysis for kidney patients. blood is removed, filtered and returned. in this case blood is also warmed, probably inducing a low grade fever. fever is known to fight infection. here's hoping.

Yes, I saw that it's similar to dialysis, but think it is definitely new hope! I would ask my oncologist about it, but what if he would discourage me from trying it? I am thinking that if there isn't any other kind of hope I would definitely go and do it. But that's my opinion. This woman was sent home to die, but this procedure is a blessing for her. I hope all goes well for her.

Yolie14, I have never heard about it, but if it was the only thing left to try, you know what - I would. The oncologist - or anybody else - can talk to you about it, sure, possibly give you more details, but at the end of the day, it is yours and yours only decision if you want to give it a try. Pls do not let someone else make that decision for you.

holidays2013, you are absolutely right. At the end of the day it is our decision. Thank you for your reply.

I would be really interested in how many patients undergo this treatment and what the ratio of success is for them..... Hope they keep posting the results...

And may the Lord guide the researchers and oncologists to find better and better methods and drugs for treating these cancers....

I asked my doctor about this. He had never heard of it. He says he knows they heat the chemo they use for Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy, but thats all he knew.

I would also be interested in knowing if it's been performed anywhere else out sight of San Jose or Bay Area. It's good if more Oncologists knew about it. I have another appointment in a few weeks. It's a new oncologist, so I'll try to remember to ask him.
