My mother, my mom!

My mom died recently from ovarian cancer. And if i can get any advice on how she felt..and what she went through.
I seen what the cancer did to her on the outside, but i need to know what a person with cancer goes through.
And if anyone has lost a person with cancer, and advice on how to move on will be a great help!

I think each person's journey is quite unique. There's no set 'pattern'. Physically, I've been through 16 chemo treatments, 3 different drugs, 3 major abdominal surgeries, more hospitalizations than I care to remember. Yet, I've lived my normal life, raising an 11 yo granddaughter, teaching piano, going to gd's activities. For me, pain isn't an issue. I do get fatigued but not enough to stop me. Emotionally, I'm an optimist and determined to stay around as long as possible, so I'll do whatever is necessary to buy that time.

I wish you peace and calmness of thoughts as you struggle to come to terms with your mom's death. She's at peace and it might help to focus on the positive times you shared in order to heal. Wishing you all the best....

So sorry to hear of your loss of your mum. My mum is currently under-going treatment for ovarian cancer but its not working. I spent the day with her on Wednesday whilst she had her chemo. We sat together and did the Telegraph crossword together..something we always did in better times. I know these times are precious and we're both focussing on creating good memories. I know that my mum will always be a part of my life and she will be kept alive in memories and family stories - just as her mum before her has been kept alive in our hearts. I know there are painful and dark times ahead..but they will pass, as all things pass.
I can see my dear mum trying to come to terms with what lies ahead..although thankfully she has little pain.

my mom struggled with ovarian cancer for 8 years... each year got a little worse until finally her kidneys went and she ended up on dialysis. She never complained... knew what her outcome would be even as us kids struggled to come to terms with that. It's been a year and a half since she passed and I still struggle without her which I know is not very encouraging and I apologize... all I can say is treasure every memory. She was probably much more prepared for this then you think. Moms are soo strong and all they worry about is their kids. So all you need to do to honor her is to live well and be happy in your life.
