I have a question for those of you with OC. Did anyone have a recurrent complex or hemorrhagic cyst or enlarged ovary that would go down in size periodically but ended up being cancer after all?
For several years now I have fought with just the left ovary enlarging, developing complex and hemorrhagic cyst. The largest was 6.5 cm. It seems to enlarge rather rapidly with severe pain and bloating and pain that radiates at time up back and all the way up to my shoulder.
The doctors feel there is no reason to explore this surgically as the ovary does seem to return to normal size after 2-3 months of being enlarged.
It just seems to me that since this only happens on the left side and not the right (like with PCOS or something) that maybe they should look into this a bit further. They did run a CA-125 last year which was normal.
I have carcinoid cancer (a nueroendocrine cancer) already. And it took years to get the diagnosis, so I'm a bit leary when docs brush things off. But I don't want to go busting in there making demands without something to back it up.
If no one else has had this scenario turn into cancer, it will put my mind at ease a bit. If you have I would love to hear your stories so I can use them as ammo with my doc.

P.S. I also developed 3 rapidly growing fibroadenomas in the uterine muscle (not in uterine cavity) over the past 6 months that were never there before.

I do have the symptoms of ovarian cancer, bloating, nausea, pain in ;pelvic area at times.
They also took the c125 test and it was negative. My gyn said if it was cancer the cyst would really be growing fast.
Have you been to mayoclinic. com and read about it or the ovariancancer.org site to see if they have info for you. Maybe checkout another gyn,.
That is interesting how it does enlarge then go back to normal, the way my gyn talks it grows fast then spreads. I am not a dr but I can google what you are searching for or you can and let each other know,.

Thanks for the response, even if it's not an answer to my question, it still helps to know SOMEONE is listening out there.
Last cycle I was on day four of my period and had to go to ER because I just started gushing blood. Flooded a pad in 2 minutes, i was totally freaked, but it settled down rather quickly. Then a week and a half later I started bleeding again for a day, then spotted the next then 2 days later the pain in the left side started.
Who knows what is going on at this point. I already have a different form of cancer going on am half tempted to just have them take out any organs i don't need to live. OK, OK, maybe I'm not, but sounds good in theory.
