Sounds good to me! It's going in the right direction! Question for you -- I have my first chemo treatment Monday. The nurses tell me I'll feel fine afterward, but I'm still a little nervous. How did you feel right after treatment ? I'm getting 2 days in a row, IP and IV.

WOO HOO!! That's great news, Bonnie! I don't remember my exact counts, but I think I had a similar drop. I know the doctor was very impressed. It continued to drop, and after treatment it was in the 6-8 range, and has remained there for almost 2 years. Not to say that I don't worry about it!! For the week before my bloodwork, I worry myself sick. I have gotten to know the nurse very well, and she calls me with the results so I can ease my mind before the doctor's appointment. I'm sure you will continue to do well. You are off to a good start!

i only go every 21 days, and get taxol, and carboplatin through my port. im going for my second session tomorrow. after my first i felt fine. slight quesiness , but not much at all. thats it.
oh... 3rd week after my hair all fell out in a few days. i hope you have it easy as well.

This is very good news Bonnie, it looks like your one of the lucky one's that respond very well to chemo. Your C.A.125 will probabley go down after each treatment and hopefully will be normal after your next treatment, that means if your on the 6 cycle treatment after the second cycle you will be normal, this will give the chemo space to attack all the undetectible cells and wipe it out forever. I love to hear these good news stories. It's a shame that everyone doesn't respond to chemo with the same success as yours, but they are working on that one. In five years they will be able to tell by looking at your D.N.A. which chemo combination will work best for you. I'm on my second round of chemo after a recurrence, my C.A. went down from 800 and something to 64 after 3 treatments so it works well on me pretty well, but they have had to stop the chemo because the gemsar was having a bad effect on my liver, so while I'm off the chemo I worry that those C.A. levels are going up. My onco says they will deal with the cancer after my liver has been sorted out, so I am in nomans land at the moment. It's all ups and downs with this flipping disease. thank you everyone. so i am going to accept this as good. lol!! i have a hard time not thinking about how things can go bad... all the "ifs" . what if i get rid of it, just to come back in a year or 2. what if they find something else? what if, what if, what if??? got to stop that! thank you for helping me to relax a bit. :)

Hi Bonnie, sounds great to me. As everyone else has stated it looks like Chemo is working well for you. I can tell you this, when first Dx with ovarian and endometral Ca my CA-125 was 3900, but after 9 rounds of chemo, I have been in the normal range of 2 1/2 years. Just received results yesterday it was a 6. You are headed in the right direction. Congrats!!
