Hi,
I am on several groups on DS and just ran across this one. Boy do I belong here. I got sick about 4 years ago and things just went down hill from then. My hubby tried to keep things up but to no avail. I have also lost and gained weight alot so needless to say that I have clothes everywhere and alot of clutter that should have been thrown away years ago.
This however has added alot of stress to the fact that it fuels my depression. I get up and take one look around and that is it I am done for the day. I use to have a very orderly and clean house. See my illness use to have me OCD about cleaning. Then it went completely the opposite and now I am stuck in a mess that I am having a terrible time geting out of. No one wants to help but they expect me to get hings cleaned up that has taken 4 years to create. I do not even want anyone to come over to my house it is so messy.
I look forward to becoming a productive member of this group and to whoever started it GOD Bless you!!! Talk to you all soon. , thanks again for such a good group!

I know it seems like a mountain right now, but take small steps. Look around and ask yourself the one place that you want clean to help you feel better....not a whole room, just one area of the room. Once you decide where to start get 3 sheets to lay on the floor. One for keep, one for trash and one for charity. Then start on the area that you want to clean by putting each item on the matching towel. If you have to think for more than a minute on something place it in the keep pile. If you haven't used it in over a year, put it in the charity pile or trash pile depending on its condition. Once you get the whole area sorted take each pile and put it in its rightful place. Keep items need to have homes immediately. If there is one of those items you had to think about without a home maybe its time to really think about getting rid of it. Take the trash pile to the garbage can area ASAP. Don't wait for the charity to pick up the items, you might be tempted to take things out of that pile which wont help the clutter issue. Pack up your vehicle and drive to the charity. Set out to do an area a week and before long you will have accomplished a lot. Getting started is the hard part, that is why you need to start with the area that will bring you the most happiness. Reward yourself when you get the area clean with lunch out, a bottle of nice wine, or whatever makes you smile.
