The heart is a hollow, muscular organ in vertebrates responsible for pumping blood through the blood vessels by repeated, rhythmic contractions, or a similar structure in annelids, mollusks, and arthropods.
I am new to this group. I was diagnosed with Hypertension in 1998 and I have struggled to get that down with 20mg Enalapril until a couple of months ago when they added 5mg Amlodipine and increased the Enalapril to 40mg.
I was diagnosed with mild Mitral Valve Regurgitation in 2011. I experienced isolated Palpitations and very high BP. In the last two years the Palpitation episodes have been more frequent.
Last month I was diagnosed with possible Paroxysmal AFib. Went to the Cardiology Clinic and it was left that they will do more tests if and when I get another episode. Rather scary as my BP has been 194/97 with heart rate of 112 and the latest one was 220/112 with a heart rate of 132. These episodes leave me extremely tired.
I was told to stop taking the 75mg Aspirin I have been on for many years as a preventative against heart attack or stroke. I am concerned I may get a rebound.
