I just read your post. I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis and am trying to decide what route to take. I'm 62 years old and have had rheumatoid arthritis for over 45 years resulting in many joint replacements.
I recently saw a new orthopedic surgeon because my old one retired. Naturally he took x-rays of my joints , both knees and hips, replaced over the years because of RA. Of concern is my left hip. In the two years since my last x-rays the bone has broken away and I'm at risk of breakage. He suggested I look into osteoporosis drugs. This scares me. The side effects sound horrendous, but having my hip fall apart sounds equally horrible. I am trying all natural healing for now.
His notes say he expects me to be wheelchair bound soon. He sounded very pessimistic that anything will help, even OP drugs, even though he wants me to take them.
But, I'm not giving up! I started Bone Up about two weeks ago but am only taking 2 capsules a day because I'm already taking Vit D3, K2, and magnesium.
Unfortunately, I don't have any answers for you. I just wanted you to know I'm praying for you and left you know that you are not alone.
I'm so sorry what you've been through but maybe you can save the other hip? My worse damage has bene to my hands (as per my avatar pic).
