I just got a letter from Abbott and I am approved for free Humira!!!!

My doctor had to fill out the form too. I don't know what the prescription is going to be. That info will come to me soon.

But I'm excited because my hands have been hurting so much and my index fingers seem to be curving outword.

I had an ultrasound in Feb 2008 that showed bone erosion in both of my hands.

My SED rate is at 57 and hasn't been able to get below 50 all year. It's supposed to be below 20.

Now I wait for the next step.

A normal sed rate is below 20! Mine run like 220.

My last test showed it to be 65. So it has been going up preHumira. I have another appt in April. He'll probably do another SED test but I can tell the Humira is working because my hands feel so much better now. Even my other joints are benefiting.

My hands are swollen (therefore stiff) every morning also, And like you, it seems to be worse in the index fingers. I don't have much curvature in the indexes, but one pinkie's knuckle has made very close friends with my ring finger- so much that I had to remove my wedding and engagement rings. I wonder why the index fingers....more use?,...too much clicking of the computer mouse?

my hubbie's on humira and its a wonder drug for sure... it takes a bit... but the changes are worthwhile... really...

I've been on Humira (for free too) for several years. Lately I can't get my sed rate down below 60. It is currently at 74. and my CRP is at 1.4. Doc is concerned. Don't know what is causing inflammation but had chest xray and next month another blood test and urine test to see if it is a fluke. I've been telling her, and I showed her a chart I made, that it is consistently high. Now to wait and see....
