I a mom to a beautiful little six year boy, he has Sever ODD and ADHD and I feel as I am failing with him because I get so upset for it is so hard to make him understand, He has horriable impulisivity I did everything before medication did therapy with him and now we are at using medication, vyvance but when he get so uspet when he is told he can't do something he throws the biggest temper tantrum and it is awful screaming uncontrollable, and it will go on for hours.

Example tonight it was nice out told him he should go play ouside with the other kids that live her, and he asked to take his nerf guns he was told no, one in half hour of scream because he didn't get his way, makes me feel has I have failed him because he is so upset and at a melt down.

I need help to help myself because I am at my last straw, I want to run away hide, jump off a roof, drive my car into concret piller, Does anyone have any suggestion to help and my son.

I am right there with you. My 3 year old has odd and the tantrums are driving me insane. I honestly don't know how to help cause we are new to this. But i think it is nice to know that there are parents that feel the same way. It's so hard not to get mad at them when they are throwing tantrums. I get mad way too often but after the 7th one on an hour I just break and start screaming.
I don't know if you could go out for a few hours after husband gets home or have someone watch him. Where I live there is a crisis childcare where you can take your child there if you need. You are not failing. Being a parent is hard, especially if they have behavior problems.

I know the feelings of just wanting to disappear. What sometimes helps me is knowing that I can take care of my son better than most people can. I don't know if you are in therapy just for you it may help I don't know. You are doing great.

I feel your pain. My six year old son is ODD too and the days can be so long. Yesterday I got him to school and came back home and put the covers over my head for an hour. We recently started a behavior plan that may be helpful for you as well. The book is "Your defiant child" by Russell Barkley. It was recommend by his psychologist.
I bet you are a fantastic mom. Don't lose faith!
