Does anyone else feel like they wake up and live in a nitemare everyday? Don't get me wrong I love my son with everything I have. But its just plain exhausting raising him. He has severe ADHD and ODD. He seems to be mostly ODD with me. And I've noticed in other people's post that seems to be common. I wonder why that is? Why children with ODD are mainly that way with their mother. It's such a chore getting him up and ready for school every day. He has a week bladder so be weara pull ups to bed. So he takes his baths in the morning. Some mornings he gets up and I'm the tub with no troubles other mornings its like pulling teeth to get him in the tub. And he refuses to wash himself so at almost 9 years old I still have to bath him. Then he takes forever getting dressed on purpose. No matter what article of clothing I hand him to put on he says he wants to put something else on first. It's always the opposite of what I say. Them we have to hunt his shoes,coat and book bag because he strings the stuff all over the house. For the 7 hrs hes at school I get a little peace. And I say little because I babysit for a living. So I have kids at my house all day. I also have an older son that a pain to get put of bed and a daughter that isn't in school yet. And my husband works swing shift. I mean seriously I have all odds stacked against me and as if that's isn't enough I have a lot of stomach troubles. Which keep me stuck at home. I just want out of this night mare already. My three kids don't get along at all and I'm on my own tk deal with it all the time and never get a break. The few chances I get that I'm actually kid free because my mom watches the kids for me I'm usually not feeling well. Ugh. Why does life have to seem so hard. I just want to enjoy my kids and watch them grow without all this stress. It's taken such a toll on me I'm now on paxil for anxiety because it became to much for me to handle. Any and all advice go help a stressed out mama of three kids who never get along is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading all this. I hope this post finds you having a better day than me :)
The one thing I have realized is that my son needs to be on medication. We are just struggling to figure out the right one. He was started on Zoloft, and I think it helped a little, but he had terrible migraines. He was then switched to risperidone, and I think it helped a lot, but then the migraines started again, and he refused to take it because of them. And boy have I noticed a difference in his behavior as the risperidone started leaving his system. Today, I told him that he will have to take a half dose and just tolerate the migraines, because his behavior has gotten that bad.
Anyway, I truly wish you the best. It is so difficult to go through this. This is probably the most depressed and worried that I have ever been in my whole life.
